  1. Use fog lights, oh I forgot, some drivers use them when it isn't foggy.
  2. I ordered a baseboard from Tim, after hearing nothing for about six weeks I contacted him again and received my order forthwith.
  3. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit late this morning as I took the long soak in the bath that I missed yesterday. I see Hattons already have a few of the new Bachmann items on their pre-order list but no doubt there is a thread here on RMweb for the new releases, let the frothing begin. Muggatee awaits, be back later.
  4. A former tram depot still in use today as a bus depot is the Silverhill depot in Hastings. It was also used by trolleybuses when they replaced the trams.
  5. I'd like to see one alongside the Bachmann Wickham trolley for size comparison.
  6. Evening all from Estuary-Land. John mentioning in his blog that one of his aunts would have been 99 today reminded me that my mum would have been 99 on new years eve. Talking of sell by dates I found some broccoli in the fridge with yesterdays date on it so it was duly added to the Sunday dinner, I'm expecting a windy night tonight.
  7. Welcome back Debs, we've all been behaving ourselves, haven't we?
  8. Announcements will be made in the next day or two.
  9. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Found the recycling box at Tesco's but no mention of LED bulbs and no one I spoke to could give any advice. When I came out the sky looked dark and threatening but still no sign of rain yet.
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Overslept this morning, woke up at 7 and decided to have an extra half hours sleep that turned into two and a half hours. Not a lot of time lost though as I took a shower instead of my usual long soak in the bath. Thats it for now, be back later.
  11. Thanks Tony, I know of the recycling box as I use it for batteries and water filters (I no longer have any long life bulbs). There is no mention of LED bulbs though.
  12. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I decided to Google the disposal of LED bulbs. Apparently they can be recycled, they contain very tiny amounts of rare and valuable elements that make it worthwhile. The problem is at the moment theres not many places that will accept them for recycling as due to their long life there simply isn't many around to be recycled. One of the places that will accept them is Ikea, not a place I frequent and I will have to find out if they have a store local enough.
  13. I'd much rather recycle them if at all possible. I'll check with the local council on Monday.
  14. But who's Shirley Kebab-House? (Turn the view round 180 degrees).
  15. They produced something similar based on a DS but with a plain van body that was used for distributing newspapers in Paris. It was not a success by all accounts being too long and unwieldy for Paris traffic.
  16. Sadly he has well and truly blotted his copybook and is unlikely to return anytime soon.
  17. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I've often eaten food thats a few days out of date, I've often found out when disposing of the packaging. As in most cases the food has been cooked I have never suffered any ill effects. One thing that I discovered in the back of the fridge though was binned without even opening the package, a quiche that was six months out of date. Talking of disposing, for the last few years I have been gradually replacing all my lightbulbs with LED bulbs. This morning the one in the kitchen was flickering so I replaced it. The problem is how to dispose of the old one? The old 'long life' ones can be disposed of in the special recepticals provided but I'm not sure about an LED one. Its a sealed unit so its unlikely to be repairable. The bulb in question was one of the first replacements about 5 or 6 years ago and it might still be under warranty but the packaging is long gone.
  18. The Queen Anne livery was applied when it was still a working loco. It was applied for IIRC the 150th anniversery of the distillery, about two years before the distillery closed.
  19. I did but all I found was the train of Autoracks that didn't appear to have any problem.
  20. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I was intending to go to Stevenage today, the club has even booked a minibus to take some members. However I decided a couple of weeks ago not to go. Just as well really as my friend who usually accompanies me is the same one with the difficult daughter. A bit grey at the moment but dry but predicted to get colder next week. I hope Dom, ID and any other ER's in Central Europe aren't too badly affected by the severe snow storms there. Thats it for now, be back later.
