  1. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Just signed up for the newsletter from UK Railtours, thanks for the heads up Tetsudofan. Spent all of 15 modelling tokens at Rayleigh, half going on a Shire scenes etched Brute trolley kit and a plastic kit of a small boat in 1/72 scale. Both half built which is just as well as the instructions for the boat kit are in the Cyrillic alphabet.
  2. Fit that to your car and you will cut through the rush hour traffic in no time.
  3. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I have been checking various appliances against the smart meter. Needless to say the kettle takes a lot of power. Interestingly the dry fryer uses about the same power as the microwave but I have to bear in mind that it needs twice as long to cook anything. I've yet to try my 30+ year old washing machine or the old vacuum cleaner that I use for collecting the dust from drilling brick walls and other 'dirty' jobs. Weather is looking good, sun is shining so off to the swapmeet at Rayleigh soon, be back later.
  4. The OP is referring to the earlier civilian forward control Land Rover 109.
  5. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Will be trying out the new smart meter monitor shortly, at the moment heating and lighting is costing me 2p an hour, but lets see what it reads when the central heating kicks in.
  6. The old Husky model is spot on 1/76 scale. They can be found at swap meets and toy fairs quite cheaply. The wheels will need replacing and the glazing often goes opaque. In overall dimensions its pretty accurate all the details are also pretty good.
  7. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit grey this morning with the 'possibility' of a shower predicted. Nothing much planned for this weekend other than the swap meet at Rayleigh where I will no doubt dispose of a few more modelling tokens. Thats it for now, back later.
  8. Could the up arrow be repositioned so that it doesn't obscure the multi-quote tab. If someone has given the same reply that I intended and I no longer require the quote I can't delete it without clicking the up arrow first.
  9. Evening all from Estuary-Land. After the PPI windfall and the free Railex tickets I've decided to invest in a couple of Euro lottery tickets, fingers crossed.
  10. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. New smart meters fitted, only took 35 minutes but the fitter took three hours to get here via the Dartford tunnel!
  11. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Have to wait in today for the guy who's coming to change the meters for smart meters, serious boredom expected, I think I will have to do some modelling. Muggatee to be drunk, be back later.
  12. Beresheeeeeeeet http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-47879538 And with that goodnight all.
  13. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Had a 'double points' voucher from Tess Coes so I done as much shopping as I could including for the weekend. The complimentary tickets for Railex arrived and are now tucked safely away. Got to go now, be back later.
  14. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I must have slept through the bin wagons dawn chorus as when I looked out over an hour ago both the bags I put out last night were gone. Just this minute I heard a noise outside. It turned out to be the chap doing the signs for Barstewarts and Thieves not just removing the 'To Let' sign applicable to next door attached to my fence but about to attach a 'let by' sign. I told him he couldn't put the sign on my fence but I refrained from suggesting where he could put it. So B****t has been moved to Halloween, I'm now waiting for the daily newsletter from News Thump, a satirical newsletter well practiced in extracting the urine. Thats it for now, be back later.
  15. I knew a young lady whose first name was Cortina.
  16. Evening all from Estuary-Land. A bit nippy when I arrived home from the club tonight, clear skies and an easterly breeze means that it will be even colder tomorrow morning.
  17. But not the people who paid into it.
  18. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Bright and sunny but chilly this morning. Bob, I take it that SWMBO doesn't read this otherwise you'd be found something to do. I don't have much to do today except drink another muggatee.
  19. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Had a pleasant surprise this afternoon. Last year when we visited Railex at Stoke Mandeville I placed my vote for best layout and thought no more of it. Apparently there was also a raffle the prize being a pair of tickets for this years show, and I'm the lucky winner. I still have quite a few modelling tokens from the PPI payment so I can indulge.
  20. What about the hardship to the family of the young woman he killed?
  21. Should put http:// in front of it so it can be read. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-47857774
