  1. Or a combination of both?
  2. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit dull this morning with signs of rain, glad that I have nothing to do outside. Among the 009 goodies purchased yesterday was a wagon loaded with barrels and beer crates so an idea is forming of an isolated pub served by its own narrow gauge railway. Thats it for now, be back later.
  3. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Had a good day at Romford today despite not seeing Bill, or no one to his description anyway. I may well have outspent GDB however. One of the traders had a mass of 009 goodies that I just couldn't resist and I subsequently spent it on 009. Here comes the rub, I gave up 009 over 25 years ago but now I have decided to start on a micro layout. Among the goodies purchased was a loop of 009 track ready wired for a controller (which I already have) fitted to a 4" by 6" card so it shouldn't take too long. Among the rolling stock I purchased was a little railcar from a company called Jelly, apparently the bees knees when it comes to 009.
  4. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Opened my e-mails this morning to find one purportedly coming from Virgin Media claiming that my service payment had failed and that if I didn't re-submit my bank details my service would be discontinued, I immediately smelt a rat, a long dead and very smelly one. So I put it in the spam folder and contacted Virgin Media who confirmed it was phishing. Blowing a hooley with horizontal rain at the moment. Soon be on my way to the Romford exhibition, be back later.
  5. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Prepared for the Romford show tomorrow, wallet fully stocked.
  6. Many of them will never need another phone. Twice recently people have stepped out in front of my car while using a mobile causing me to brake suddenly.
  7. Morning all from Estuary-Land. My brain has died, I was going to make a few comments but whatever they were has gone. I now hear the lesser spotted glass and bottle wagon outside, the bin wagons dawn chorus is just coming to an end. A day late this week due to the bank holiday. Be back later when my brain awakes.
  8. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Catching up after the outage this morning, at least it was only a couple of hours. Ian, thanks for reminding me about BIN day, mine is tomorrow instead of today due to the bank holiday. Thats it for now, be back later.
  9. Problem is I live a long way from the Peak District.
  10. A rather late good morning from Estuary-Land as RMweb has been down for a couple of hours. Condolences to Jim and happy birthday Dave. Be back later.
  11. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Bill, I'll be at Romford on Saturday all being well. Just look out for the scruffiest old git there. The flowing grey beard and the walker identifies me.
  12. Afternoon from Estuary-Land. Little in the way of hay fever today but Arthur Itis informs me that rain is on its way.
  13. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Just realised this morning that the new (smart) gas meter isn't working. As I only use gas for heating and hot water I didn't notice until the heating kicked in this morning for the first time after the warm weather. I will have to get on to Co-op Energy and let them know this morning. Thats it for now, be back later.
  14. If it doesn't get waved through by the minister if the local council rejects the plan. This is why almost new houses are going to be demolished to make way for HS2 and the lower Thames crossing.
  15. Referred to as broad gauge as compared to the Irish narrow gauge, of 3 feet.
  16. Evening all from Estuary-Land. When I visited Tess Coe's the other day I found a till receipt in the trolley, upon inspection the club card points hadn't been claimed, 101 points! they have now been added to my club card. I have asked for the necessary forms to claim back the tax from the PPI, now just waiting for some other documents. Time to put the kettle on, be back later.
  17. Last time I was held up on a Motorway (A14 last year, car caught fire) the biggest hold up was caused by rubber-neckers, long after the emergency services had departed.
  18. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Someone has informed me that I can reclaim the tax I paid on my PPI windfall a few weeks ago. That comes to another £80, much better that I should have it rather than the taxman. I now have to sort out the paperwork and contact the tax office. Not much else to report, C&C's where appropriate, be back later. PS RMweb is dead slow again as per GDB.
