Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit overcast this morning but according to the seaweed twirlers it should brighten up. Not a lot planned for today or for the weekend which by all accounts is going to be a scorcher. Now going to remove a snail that is climbing the patio window, I will then place it in full view of Mr. and Mrs. thrush who I'm sure will appreciate the gesture. Muggatee awaits, be back later.

Evening all from Estuary-Land. Checking my off cuts pile I think I may have just enough 9 mm ply to make the baseboard for the lads layout. The only thing I need now is something for the base to support the 50 mm insulation foam top of the baseboard. I have a piece of 9 mm MDF that will be sufficient so I might use that.

I have always thought that The Rays, a series of sandbanks running n/s off of the east coast would be the ideal site for a tidal power station. In fact they are used for offshore wind farms already.

Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The construction of the lads layout is on hold for a day or two. You would think that the orange emporium would have some 9 mm ply that was straight and not warped and twisted, I couldn't find a single straight piece. At least other emporiums are available and will be visited over the next few days.

Morning all from Estuary-Land. Sun is shining but a bit muggy here ATM. Nearly panicked this morning as I hadn't put the rubbish bags out until I realised that the bin wagons dawn chorus would be a day late due to the bank holiday, I'd better get them sorted while I remember. I've been examining my stack of round tuits, its getting rather high so I'll have to start doing something about it (thats another round tuit on the stack). Tea is drunk so its be back later.

Now that the crowd funding is petering out (only a few hundred pounds over the last few days) would it be a good time to close the account?

Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. My friends electrical problem turned out to be a faulty sandwich toaster. It didn't occur to his teenage daughter that switching it on and the lights going out were connected. The sandwich toaster is on its way to the local tip. No events in this part of the world this weekend so I hope to make a start on the young mans layout. Club night tonight so its be back later.

Morning all from Estuary-Land. Commiserations to Ian and OH. Alternate cloud and sun this morning and already getting breezy. When I meet my friend today I'll ask him about the electric problem he suffered at the weekend. His existing wiring looks pretty old and might even be original (his place was built in the 50's) so a complete rewire might be on the cards. I have a few ideas that would make it cheaper/simpler to do the job such as putting in new cabling when replacing the flooring in one of the bedrooms which he is doing at the moment. Not much else to report, tea has been drunk, be back later.

Evening all from Estuary-Land. I've been trying out the tea found lurking in the back of the kitchen cupboard. I've found I like it more than my usual tea. Its a China/Darjeeling blend with a pleasant smokey flavour. It is/was a Sainsbury's product but gawd knows how long it was in the cupboard. Fortunately it was packed in foil which has kept it fresh and I have now decanted it to an airtight tin.

Nine at the last count. And no I don't know what they are.

Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. After searching the kitchen cupboards I found an unopened packet of tea which upon inspection turned out to be large leaf so I have a supply for the next few days having decanted it into an airtight tin. I also had an e-mail from my energy supplier re. my not so smart gas meter. They confirmed that they are getting readings from it which is more than I can say.

Perhaps its a case of not wanting to flood the market. Then again Oxford Diecasts new release schedule is somewhat erratic and Oxford Rails is the same.

In many European countries where unlike the UK where vehicles do carry the same registration throughout their lives cross border sales of second hand cars are quite common. The classic movement of second hand cars is German MOT failures to Poland which when they fail the less stringent Polish MOT are passed on to the Ukraine and then in turn to Russia.

French registered, could be a basic model only sold in France. Gilbern?

Most if not all of the pre-grouping stock had gone by 1980. My bedroom when I lived in Romford overlooked the overhead engineers yard and I remember the converted Mk1 stock arriving in one batch fresh out of the paint shop about 1978.
