  1. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Many happy returns Pete, its my turn tomorrow as my 71st circle of the sun begins. Our exhibition seems to have been well attended and it appears to be a bit up on last years, we will find out at the inquest. I didn't see Tony but with the exhibition spread out between the two halls its no surprise. Thats it for now, be back later.
  2. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A quick hello as I'm out to our exhibition shortly. Best wishes to Chris at his event too. Be back later.
  3. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Most of the stall set up for tomorrow and the back is now making strong complaints so its a couple more Ibuphoren before going to bed. But I have to catch up with a few things before going to bed.
  4. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. After some mugs of tea its load the car up with a few bits for the exhibition, a fish and chips dinner then off to the venue. Still no sign of the cars and van returning to obstruct my drive here's hoping they don't.
  5. Mary had a little coat. It was open at the front. But she never wore it.
  6. Morning all from Estuary-Land. The cars and even the van obstructing my drive had disappeared by late evening, a bit unusual as one of the cars and the van are usually there overnight. LE, I seem to recall a similar sign on Liverpool Street station (suburban side). On the subject of RSM's, I used to work with a former RSM named Len Williams. He originally signed up in 1925 for 15 years but due to the war stayed on until 1946 when he joined the Essex police. When he retired from the police he became a bailiff for the same council that I worked for. He passed away aged 98 only just before I retired.
  7. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I am effectively confined to barracks. I am unable to get my car off of the drive due to vehicles parked either side leaving just about a cars width and another car right opposite my drive parked half on the pavement. The one on the right is a high top transit van that means that when I pull off my drive I cant see any vehicle approaching from that direction and the drivers cant see me.
  8. Morning all from Estuary-Land. The sciatica has abated somewhat but still gives the odd warning to be careful. A couple of Ibuprofen with breakfast this morning should keep it in check. ChrisF, the colours of the boots are perfectly natural but in the wrong order, Richard Of York Goes Battling In Vain. Though it might be that the Leprechauns have the legal rights.
  9. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Things were calm at the model railway club this evening, rather unusual for the last meeting before the annual show. I still have some stuff to deliver to the venue Friday evening/Saturday morning.
  10. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The Ibuprofen is proving a bit more effective than Paracetamol, and yes I did take them with a couple of biscuits. Sorted out a few items for the club sales stand, among them in a box of old diecast toys is an intriguing model. Its a diecast domestic garage about the same size, shape and proportions as the Matchbox accessory pack one. Other than that it differs in style and construction but I would like to find out who made it.
  11. Back again having rested my back but the sciatica now making itself known again. I did take a couple of paracetamols this morning not realising I had any Ibuprofen in stock. I have now discovered a packet at the back of the medicine cupboard and a couple are about to be taken.
  12. I wonder if wheels and glazing from Oxford Diecast can be used with these?
  13. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Nothing much is going to get done here today as my sciatica is back with a vengeance. The only way to ease it is to lay flat for a couple of hours so thats what I will be doing shortly.
  14. I wonder if anyone will come up with a body to fit on a (lengthened) Oxford Escort XR3 floor pan. And likewise a VW Caddy pick-up from the Oxford VW Golf.
  15. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I'm with Dave on not having a smart phone, in fact I don't even have a mobile. I have a credit card and they keep asking me to sign up for text messages when an internet transaction takes place to confirm that I have made a transaction. As the only internet payments I make are via Paypal I'm not too concerned.
  16. Remember that like dogs hedgehogs might not like tapwater due to the chemicals we put in it. Clean rainwater is the ideal.
  17. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Last of the marathon washing done and four pairs of jeans on the dryer. Now to sort out a few bits for the sales stand at our exhibition this coming weekend.
  18. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Surely 'St. Trinnians', or more correctly St. Trinnian would be a GWR Saint class? I spent a comfortable night waking up at half past five, I decided to have a short nap before getting up, two and a half hours later...... Thats it for now, be back later.
  19. But still funny >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYgTM1pPjKQ
  20. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The PPI cheque dropped onto the mat this morning so it was into town to deposit it into my bank account this afternoon. Had a look around some of the shops, it didn't take long as most of those that remain are all concentrated in a small area. Coming home I caught the turn out from the local comprehensive, it put me in mind of St. Trinians, the younger girls were all wearing long skirts almost to the ankles whereas the older girls skirts were as small as could be decently worn. Dinner to be prepared so its be back later.
