  1. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Just a quick hello, watching the cricket. NZ 33-1 ATM.
  2. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Well my viewing is planned for tomorrow, cricket, cricket and more cricket. As for shorts, I haven't worn them for what must be 40 years. Just watched a brief youtube item on Stowe Maries airfield, must pay them a visit, its some years since I last visited (7?) and they seem to have made quite a few improvements.
  3. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Still looking for a desk lamp, I'll probably nip down to Homebase tomorrow. Not a lot else to report, be back later.
  4. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit overcast and muggy here today but should brighten up later. It looks as if the lighting of my computer desk is giving up, its a string of LED's and the switch is worn causing them to flicker. Thats it for now, be back later.
  5. Theres a few RMwebbers resident in France. One, Olddudders lives near Le Mans and another jamie92208 lives in the Charente region. I would suggest asking them if there is a list of French model railway clubs. Best of luck with your search.
  6. SWMBO is in hospital, she tried hoola-hooping braless.
  7. Evening all from Estuary-Land. 41 metres ASL for me but rather surprisingly the other end of my street is 36 metres, over a 16 foot drop but looking down the length of the road it doesn't seem as much. I also checked out the Wat Tyler country park, some parts are minus 1 metre which would be about right but when I checked Canvey Island it showed the eastern end of the island as 14 metres and the tidal mudflats between Canvey and South Benfleet as 4 metres ASL! Time to put the kettle on, be back later.
  8. The principal crop in Essex and indeed other parts of East Anglia was malting barley. This was dispatched all over the country including to many Scottish distileries. Complete trains of grain wagons used to make their way north at one time. This has largely been displaced by oilseed rape, the bright yellow plant. The purple flowering plant is linseed, as I was informed by John Jolley when he grew it one year. Both plants are very attractive to bees who are attracted to yellow and purple flowering plants.
  9. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Bright and sunny here this morning but the odd shower is predicted but a strong chance of missing a shower altogether. The butterfly I rescued yesterday I've identified as a large white, though it was neither large or completely white. Not a lot else to report, be back later.
  10. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Shopping duly done and packed away. On my way out to Tess Coes I spotted a butterfly trapped in a spiders web so I carefully pulled the spiders web away and it was able to flutter away. I've no idea what sort of butterfly it was, it had white wings with black spots.
  11. As I was leaving the house this lunchtime I spotted a butterfly trapped in a spiders web. Fortunately I was able to free it and it was able to flutter away. I've no idea what species of butterfly it was but it had creamy white wings with dark brown or black markings.
  12. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Not a lot to report today but going for a 'big shop' at Tess Coes later. A couple of days ago they sent me some extra points vouchers including a double points vouchers so I delayed some purchases until today when a couple of model railway mags are published to boost the points total. Thats it for now, be back later.
  13. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Inquest on the exhibition was started and some information was distributed. Footfall was down quite a bit on last year but we're still in the black. Now for that last muggatee, be back later.
  14. You can't have enough scrubbing brushes.
  15. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the show.
  16. Thanks Rob. There has been problems with the web site, so bad in fact that that we are in the process of preparing a new one. Glad you enjoyed the show and hope to see you next year.
  17. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Dry but a bit sticky so I don't feel like doing much except drink more tea. I haven't done much on the young mans layout recently but I have obtained a controller for it at our show from a reliable source. Now to drink even more tea, be back later.
  18. They made that one in 1/43 scale. They made a Mk. II Escort van in 1/72 scale Trackside series.
  19. The Vauxhall ambulance is based on the D type. It is better than the model T if you want to use it as a delivery van as the body is plain just like a van.
