  1. Many of them went to provincial cities and towns and served there much longer than the ten years or so that they did in London.
  2. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A quick hello now out to Mangapps.
  3. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Made arrangements to visit Mangapps tomorrow with my friend and his lad. Polly, I knew someone who had a slate patio, it was made from a couple of old snooker tables, complete with semicircles cut out of the corners for the pockets.
  4. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The car is now taxed, I did do it just over a week ago but I didn't get the notification that Tony mentioned but as it was still in July the car was still showing as taxed. Luckily later this morning the DVLA site came to life and I was able to tax the car. Not a lot else to report, be back later.
  5. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I thought I'd re-taxed the car but I didn't receive any notification and on checking my bank statement which arrived yesterday there was no sign of a deduction. I went to check on the DVLA site and its down so I don't know if the car is taxed or not, I'll have to try later.
  6. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Consider yourself lucky if the gulls only grab your ice cream http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-49070562
  7. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I really must get on with the young mans layout, its been in limbo for a few weeks now, either too hot or too wet. Must get on now, still the crossword and sudoku to do.
  8. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit brighter this morning than the last few days. The postman has just delivered some magazines and journals so thats the rest of the day sorted.
  9. Older vehicles are quite small compared to their modern counterparts which means that the scale difference is less noticable, I once saw a B type parked alongside an Optare minibus, the minibus was both longer and wider than the B type and had almost as many seats. Also quite a few B types were converted to lorries.
  10. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Only a few at the club tonight so we packed in early. Tea to be drunk so its be back later.
  11. FYI Roden have introduced a B type bus in 1/72 scale.
  12. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Congratulations to Ian and spouse. Grey and overcast but mostly dry, I did detect a few spots lunchtime but they were few and far between. Club night tonight, be back later.
  13. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Signs of brightening up this morning but a bit windy. I hope you have an enjoyable time in Sidmouth Chris and the same for Rick in Purbeck. Tea has been drunk, be back later.
  14. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Had some heavy rain/hail earlier but now it has dried up even if still a bit gusty. Out this evening so got to get ready, be back later.
  15. I keep getting reminders that the credit limit on my Argos account has been raised, only thing is I don't have an Argos account.
  16. You can't blame him for the arrival of the parakeets. If its any consolation some raptors seem now to prefer parakeets to pigeons.
  17. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Sun shining but expected to turn wet later and Arthur Itis is in agreement. I think I'll go back to bed.
  18. Unlucky for Leclerc and Bottas though.
  19. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Been sorting out a few old models and found an old plastic kit (Ratio?) for a pair of early Victorian coaches. They are unboxed and without instructions but are so basic that they shouldn't be difficult to build as they have no interior or even floors! I just have to look out for suitable wheels (spoked). Teas brewing so its be back later time.
  20. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Bright and sunny this morning so I'm going to give the weeds that have sprung up on the patio a dose of weedkiller. Best wishes to John and Sandy and Bon Voyage on your return to Cornwall. Tea to be drunk, be back later.
