  1. Just realised, no blog from John this evening, hope everythings OK?
  2. Despite that they are still quite large. I visited Mangapps a couple of weeks ago and was able to go inside the CP caboose that they have there.
  3. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Actually done a bit of weeding (of the patio) today, between the showers. Found quite a few snails hiding among the undergrowth, I left them well exposed on the patio for the thrushes. My friends daughter is autistic and is the same age as Hannah and the autism is compounded by her having a mental age of only 8 or 9. She just mopes in her room all day playing on her tablet but on occasion will communicate with those around her. Her brother on the other hand, who is also special education needs is doing very well after his first year at special school. He was scarcely out of year one education wise despite being 10 years old when a place became available at special school. Now after just one year he is not only up to speed compared to his contemporaries but beginning to catch up.
  4. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit dismal this morning, a short while ago it was persisting down and it looks the same for the rest of the day. Earlier this morning I observes something strange through the frosted glass bathroom window. When I went outside to look it turned out to be a longish straw caught behind a downpipe so nothing to worry about. I was concerned that it might be sealant from the windows breaking away.
  5. Evening all from Estuary-Land. After todays exertions at Canvey the joints were protesting but couple of Ibuprofen soon sorted that. Luckily the weather stayed dry.
  6. Go into 'Gallery' and search for transporters.
  7. It was recovered, having gone quite some distance.
  8. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Had a good day at the bus rally, though the buses were outnumbered by the cars by a wide margin. I wish I'd taken my camera as there was some very interesting vehicles including a cold war era Tatra with an air cooled V8 engine in the boot. Managed to find an unusual second hand book, a 1964 SNCF rail atlas. My friends young son certainly enjoyed himself, one of the bus companies were giving away free frisbies, quite interesting when he threw it into the wind. Thats it for now, be back later.
  9. The links come up 'Does not exist.'
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. No lie-in this morning as I'll be off to Canvey in about half an hour. Weather forecast looks good with the very slim possibility of a shower if a bit windy. Tea to be drunk, be back later.
  11. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Time to put the kettle on, be back later.
  12. Yes I did, its at Waterside Farm sports centre. I intend to find out if its a one off or going to be a regular event. Its the museums 40th anniversary. They used to use the school next door for their usual event in October but the school has become an academy and is no longer interested in letting out the premises.
  13. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Been dry today but very windy, the forecast is the wind will fall away but mostly dry for tomorrow so the bus rally on Canvey should be OK. Ever thought of placing the terminus on a higher level and making a bridge over the other tracks?
  14. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit late on parade as 'lay in Sunday' has been bought forward a day. Bright sunshine at the moment but blowing hard, there was a lot of rain last night but the wind has dried things out nicely.
  15. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Fortunately no blackouts here but causing chaos in London with Kings Cross out of action and a few other terminals badly affected. It was announced at the end of the news that it was down to a couple of generators short circuiting. Sounds as if some high tension wires came in contact in the high winds. Apparently its been sorted but the knock on effect will probably last for some time.
  16. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Congratulations to Dave and Mrs. H. I woke up to the sound of rain at god knows what o'clock last night and promptly went back to sleep again. Its now drying up but more rain is forecast for this evening. At least its still looking pretty good for Sunday. Muggatee to be drunk, be back later.
  17. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Still no sign of rain here yet, its possible it may veer off in another direction and we will miss the worst of it. Track night at SEERS tonight, I will have to sort out some stock to run. Thats it for now, be back later.
  18. Good idea, also the radiator grill could be modified to represent a late 30's Kew Dodge by re-shaping the bottom edge and removing the moulded on badge. I have never seen a picture of the prototype with the style wheels as supplied in the kit. The nearest wheels are the now obsolete Coopercraft ones, the original wheels from the kit are very like the contemporary Morris-Commercial wheels.
  19. Those two actions seem to be quite compatible, why not combine them? Hacking out the roots means you need something to fill the hole.
