  1. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Still no sign of rain but rather windy. I was about to mention that Tescoes at Pitsea had the coconuts that Tony required but he'd already found them, they were in the reduced aisle. Thats it for now, be back later.
  2. Some people seem to have forgotten that we are discussing a generic model.
  3. Mine just says 'Works livery' on the box. The one in army livery is without any cab doors. I have pre-ordered an army one and been told to expect it in December.
  4. Nearly forgot, for all you rugby fans, England have come up with an answer to New Zealands Haka.>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZjLATAUwao
  5. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Quite bright this am but cloud and rain predicted for later. I will be going to the toy fair at Brentwood tomorrow so I will have to draw some modelling tokens today. Not much else to report, be back later.
  6. Don't ever ask Black Rod for a demonstration of where it fits in.
  7. Are they going to be preserved as is or the frames used for something else?
  8. For all you rugby fans following the RWC in Japan this is Englands answer to the Haka. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZjLATAUwao
  9. Were they painted in blue and yellow squares?
  10. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Just about sorted out the results of the internet outage this morning. It certainly poured down this afternoon but from late Sunday its wall to wall sunshine during daylight hours but its going to be cold brrr.
  11. The GE were air braked and they are proposed in the second batch.
  12. But is it a brick wall? Perhaps its the access to another dimension that only those with the right knowledge can access.
  13. I received mine today, only one little grumble. The match truck, which is the old Airfix/GMR lowfit certainly shows its age alongside the Ruston. The rather undernourished buffers for one.
  14. Usually Southern utility van chassis, the shorter bodies are often mounted on brake van chassis.
  15. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Shortly after my last post my internet supplier pulled the plug so no internet and no RMweb. All is back to normal now but theres a lot of catching up to do.
  16. Only 1,000 999 posts to go to reach 200,000. Reason for edit, Kingsance just pipped me to the post.
  17. Morning all from Estuary-Land. My latest purchase arrived this morning, the Hornby Ruston 48DS. Will be setting up the test track this afternoon to give it a run. I once had to remove nailed in skirting boards, I used a drill bit for metal to remove the nail heads and after the skirting boards were removed the shaft of the nails were pulled out with some pliers. The nails were more rust than steel and the skirting boards were rotten, just held together by multiple coats of paint so I needn't have bothered. The wall was to be treated for damp that had rusted the nails and rotted the skirting boards.
  18. A few other useful items there such as the horses and the Huntly & Palmer biscuit tins.
  19. As the 747 climbs to cruising height the captain comes on the tannoy and says "Welcome aboard this flight from London to New York. We will be flying at a height of OH MY GOD!" Then silence for about a minute. Then the captain comes on the tannoy again and says "Apologies ladies and gentlemen, the stewardess spilt some very hot coffee in my lap and its made a mess of the front of my trousers." Then a voice piped up from the back of the cabin "Nothing like the mess its made of the back of mine."
  20. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Club night tonight, still sorting out the alterations to the clubroom but its coming along. Wasps like spiders kill some of the insects that carry diseases such as flies and mosquito's.
  21. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Been checking up on the Human Tissue Authority, apparently they will want all the bits, if you've had something removed they don't want you, same if you've donated any of your organs. All my bits are where they should be so thats no problem. Tea is ready to be drunk so I'll be back later.
  22. Didn't someone once manage to get a canal narrowboat out into the North Sea?
  23. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Bright and sunny this morning but I'm still playing catch up from the weekend, haven't even opened the Sunday paper yet. Not much else to report, be back later.
