  1. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Tess Coes was surprisingly this lunchtime so the shopping was done and dusted and I was home before 2 o'clock. Club AGM tonight, hope it doesn't go on for too long. Brentwood toy fair and swapmeet this Saturday, place will be heaving but well worth going especially if you can bag a bargain.
  2. Looks as if they're from a partwork. I'm visiting a big swapmeet this Saturday (Brentwood) and I'll keep an eye out for one, and the J4 van.
  3. Lindberg flew the Atlantic with the same lack of view forward.
  4. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit late this morning, took a look at the Hattons generic coach thread. The troll who didn't seem to understand the word generic seems to have gone, combined extraction of urine can have that effect. A very funny series and that last clip was one of the funniest.
  5. A monoplane Tiger Moth? Obviously it is of the DH Moth family but not a 'Tiger'.
  6. I want a Great Northern giraff with its unique head profile!
  7. Thanks, but in some cases the postage is more than the model. I scrolled down and there is a very nice looking Austin J4 van at just a smigen under £25 including postage.
  8. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. SEERS tonight, last meeting this year so sausage rolls, mince pies and cake are the order tonight. Also it is track night so a chance to test my latest acquisitions. Thats it for now, be back later.
  9. We use LPG in road vehicles without any problems. The containers used for LPG are designed and built to withstand heavy impact. The same could apply to hydrogen, as long as it is safely contained there shouldn't be any problems.
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Interesting fact about the Ace cafe, it was flattened during the blitz and completely rebuilt after the war. Living on my own I can pick and choose the veg for Christmas dinner and sprouts are not on the menu. Not because I don't like them but cooking for one means that such small quantities are required so cooking requirements have to be taken into account. On facebook someone posted the sign for a pub called 'The Duke of York' featuring a portrait of the current D-o-Y. On the bottom of the sign was written 'Under 18's welcome.' This talk of people engrossed in their mobiles reminded me that there's a film or two on Youtube of those so engrossed coliding with lamposts and walking into fountains. I normally carry an extra door key in the ticket pocket of my jeans. Last week it went missing and I had another cut, needless to say the original turned up, in another pocket of a pair of jeans.
  11. Sadly, they're not allowed to damage the car. Even the police had to take due care when they had the car removed. Hopefully the driver will have the book thrown at him in court.
  12. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Car clutch cable duly replaced and bank account lowered by £230. It was to be £250 but it didn't take as long as expected and thats why the charge was less. And thats why I have been taking my car to the same place since it was new 11 years ago. The clutch feels a lot lighter now but I soon got the hang of it and didn't kangaroo once. Best wishes Dom that your family medical issues will be sorted soon. You have to draw blood first to qualify for the GDB school of DIY.
  13. Aren't some of the rails in the disused Aldwych Underground station over a hundred years old?
  14. I have one made up and painted in teak livery but with motor seized up, open to offers.
  15. Not a level crossing but just as stupid/selfish http://mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mindless-driver-parks-front-fire-20989793 The car was towed away by police.
  16. That explains it, by re-posting it I have 19 more views this month.
  17. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Had to rush off a bit earlier to take the car in for a new clutch cable to be fitted. Just spoken to the owner/landlord of the house next door, the tenants are moving out on the 22nd of this monthand I'm not the only one who will be happy to see them go. Just had a call, the cars ready, be back later.
  18. Link doesn't work? EDIT It does now on this post?
  19. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Just a quick hello as I'm taking the car in for a new clutch cable at IS THAT THE TIME...
