  1. Are they going to keep the third rail? The replacement stock although built to run on an external power supply (four rail) has been re-engineered to operate on an internal supply either battery or diesel.
  2. There are other on-line auction sites and sites such as Facebook have on-line sales.
  3. The oldest I-o-M stock is forty years older than the 1938 stock. Not sure if they are still running but there were some Sentinel railcars dating from c. 1930 running a cross border service between Peru and Chile into the 21st century. Though they are no longer steam powered being fitted with Volvo diesels.
  4. Nicked this from the Wacky Signs thread, especially for you HH.
  5. I had my first taste of Black Forrest cake nearly fifty years ago. Best of all it was in Germany not far at all from the Black Forest and it was home made by a lady who was a native of the region.
  6. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Bright and sunny this morning but according to the forecast its cold out there. I and the family were hoping to visit my brother on Friday but it looks as if thats off. My lurgi is still hanging in there by its fingertips and my sister and her husband now have the full blown version. It will be my brothers 73rd birthday in March so hopefully we can have the family get together then.
  7. Evening all from Estuary-Land and goodnight all.
  8. Two slices of bread got married, the wedding went well until the guests toasted the happy couple. Coat, hat already on.
  9. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Rather like ChrisF's my lurgi has almost disappeared. However as a precaution I have stocked up with Lem-sips and Caledonian falling down water (the cooking variety). Watching the evening news/weather then time for dinner.
  10. I get that sometimes when a post will not load. Usually a click on the reload button will do to get it posted.
  11. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit grey this morning but dry and Arthur Itis is not predicting any dampness. Not a great deal to do today except to wash a few pairs of jeans as I'm down to one clean pair. Washing them isn't a problem but finding them space indoors to dry can be tricky what with sheets and other items vying for space and the weather being too risky to chance putting them outside. Thats it for now, be back later.
  12. You should look at the Jack-the-Ripper theories.
  13. Bit of an echo in here. (Just report to mods and hide extra posts.)
  14. The BBC have released their sound archive on line for free. https://happymag.tv/bbc-sound-effects-archive/?fbclid=IwAR26UKmXXBev9Zf59ePLwJX5zUFZn9ihnvO2DS3OWX0MPOm_7HHMlNSC7F0
  15. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Finally caught up with my Farcebook despite their pages being a right PITA, user friendly they are not. Now to catch up on the rest of RMweb.
  16. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Having spent the best part of the morning in bed or bath I spent a lot of the afternoon doing eyelid inspection. I will have to get to bed a bit earlier. Arthur Itis has been quiet lately but the return of the dampness has woken him up but not too much. Tea is waiting to be drunk, be back later. Laze E. Buqqer.
  17. What if its the one on top of the list?
  18. Another station up for sale. Well the platform buildings anyway as the station is still open. https://www.mouseprice.com/property-for-sale/ref-30883137/for-sale?utm_source=property.mitula.co.uk&utm_medium=referral&fbclid=IwAR2qiveeEfwZZ-_DuQhBS-fBPXooUWSazhJMSCDI-m9pXxORTXKdL7ZmdKY I would convert it into self catering holiday accomodation.
  19. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Another lazy morning lie in/soak in, I'd better stop that before it becomes too much of a habit. Time to put the kettle on, be back later.
  20. I'd want to know whats making them dance first before taking a bite.
  21. Because of the Corona virus epidemic Corona beer are changing their name to Ebola.
  22. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Ah, bullsh!t bingo, I remember it well. There was a time when HR used to line all the employees up to remind them how wonderful the senior management were. Whenever these events took place I was glad to see many middle managers there because quite a few of them could be quite entertaining. Most of these guys were 'off the tools' and would never suffer fools gladly, they didn't quite succeed in reducing the speaker to tears but they came very close at times. I see the 'Genisis' 4/6 wheel coach thread is kicking off again, the argument now is is the proposed LB&SC livery correct, on a genetic model! Methinks extraction of urine will be required soon. 81C's comments about his ex reminded me of this >> http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/bride-ruins-12k-dress-wedding-21349958 A word of warning, do not read it if you are about to sit down for a meal, especially the bit about eating the wedding cake.
