  1. GDB + 1 fence panel + a strong wind, what could possibly go wrong?
  2. I wonder how many of those pedestrians stepped into the road staring at their mobiles?
  3. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Like ChrisF and Kz my lurgi seems to come and go as it pleases. It obviously doesn't like the great outdoors as when I venture out it seems to go into hiding. The wind is still blowing, a skip was delivered and placed on the weed patch that is my front garden. As it was delivered it swung a bit but was delivered safely. Its actually for next door were they are replacing the flat roof but their bits will not fill it completely so I'll help them fill it up.
  4. Early risers came up in triplicate on the content listing as well and refused to load but I think the mods are on to it.
  5. I feared with a Scottish registration it had an 'age related' number plate but SC 4916 must be the original number issued in 1929. Not bad for a 90-year-old.
  6. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Still more than a bit windy with on and off rain, Arthur Itis is not predicting any more rain soon though. Not any damage to my property but a new fence at the back of a house around the corner was down with a concrete fence post at an odd angle. A mate of mine who lives a couple of doors down from the property explained that the ground in that area was almost a swamp. This might or might not be connected to the storm >>https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-51444749 A former girlfriend used to live in road where it happened.
  7. And then they get towed away and scrapped, Its too big to be either car, compare it to the Mk. III Cortina for size. It could be a series II or III Morris Oxford.
  8. The site of the old depot is now covered with modern housing (Galpin Close).
  9. The original Mini's, and their bigger brethren such as the 1100/1300 had a lot of internal space. Only thing is I wouldn't want to be in one if it was hit by one of those 4X4's.
  10. A few years ago I came across an example of #3 in Colchester. There had been a cloudburst and the roads were awash but only by a few inches. He had come to a mini roundabout and stopped causing quite a hold-up. I observed that the centre of the 'bump' on the mini roundabout was clear of the water so I just drove around him and several other cars just followed suit when they realised that the water was three inches deep at the most.
  11. The Datsun (?) looks tiny compared to the 4X4.
  12. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Dry and sunny this morning but still blowing a bit. The only change is that an old wheelbarrow has blown over, that will be put straight later, if I remember. I found it quite easily by Googling 4-D-Jones, with the hyphens. I know that bit of coast well, one set of grandparents lived at St. Leonards and most of the summer holidays as a child were spent down there. I gather that he was rescued just off of Rye. I'm thinking if he'd come ashore between Hastings and Rye there wouldn't be anything much to find of him, except by the crabs.
  13. At the height of the storm I saw a few gulls hovering on the wind.
  14. I'm glad I wasn't on this flight today. >>
