  1. Anything from the 50's onwards. Ice cream vans tend to do very low mileages so many remain in service for 25 years or more. The only alterations would be to the interior 'shop' part of the vehicle. Some quite unusual vehicles have been used such as Landrovers and a 1930's Rolls Royce.
  2. Cararama produced a couple of sliding bed recovery trucks. One in 1/72 scale and one in 1/87 scale. Both were manually operational. They were largely plastic so might not be strong enough for powered operation.
  3. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I see we're back to the wide margin/blank space on the right hand side. Not that I'm complaining as RMweb is still usable. Not a lot to report, be back later.
  4. I run a local history group on Facebook and some information on local businesses comes up quite often, including a local ice cream vendor. Unfortunately my group covers Essex, some distance from your area.
  5. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit overcast but dry here at the moment but predictions are cold and windy. Arthur Itis and the lurgi both appear to be resting at the moment, long may they continue to do so. Went to bed a bit late last night so a bit of eyelid inspection is next, be back later.
  6. Check out local history sites, those that do photographs in particular. Also those that do vintage postcards.
  7. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Back a little late from a meeting this evening due in part to roadworks springing up everywhere. I see RMweb is back to normal but seems to be far quicker and I haven't noticed any ads.
  8. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The skip departed 15 minutes ago so anything left to go in it I will have to take to the dump myself. I've noticed no significant changes to RMweb after the upgrade and the blank space is still there, perhaps something will happen tonight.
  9. The 'condensed' pages might be something to do with the upgrade mentioned at the top of each page commencing 14:00 hours.
  10. Most printers do not print white. If you can match the background colour add it in and print on white decal paper.
  11. Morning all from Estuary-Land. The RMweb pages seem to be acting strangely at the moment. There is a blank space on the right taking up a third of the page? Everything else seems to be OK except there is no ads. Bright sunshine earlier but a bit more cloud has drifted across recently. Just had a call from my brother, He's now recovering from the heart op and sounds pretty good in the circumstances.
  12. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Railway Bylines landed on the mat this morning. Only managed a quick perusal so far but looks interesting. Tea to be drunk, be back later.
  13. Here you are. http://www.modelbuszone.co.uk/tmb/images_model_kits/mabex/Mabex_Transfers_2019_Catalogue.pdf
  14. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Still blowing a hoolie but it appears to have blown the rain away. Decided not to venture into town this afternoon though, the joints are protesting again. Rick, its a pity that that selfish idiot cant be made to pay for all the delayed service claims which must add up to a pretty sum. Tea awaits so its be back later.
  15. The only time I drove an Avenger was when I hired one from Hertz. It was dirty with torn seats and a clunky gearbox, obviously well (mis)used. I understood then where the idea of 'Rent-a-Wreck' came from.
  16. Ironically the British and American gun laws came about for the same reason. That was the American war of Independence. The Americans allowed their citizens to carry arms to fight off the British. The British establishment on the other hand, fearful of an armed uprising at home sought to restrict guns, more so after the French revolution. This is why the first police force, the Metropolitan was expressly forbidden to carry guns and had to make do with swords instead.
  17. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Windy and a bit damp this morning, but predicted to dry up later. If its dry I might hobble into town as I have things to do. Yesterday afternoon I flaked out but today I feel OK, The previous couple of days exertions must have caught up with me. Thats it for now, be back later.
  18. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Forgot to mention my friends young son came with us to the toy fair. He came away with an Oxford Diecast circus set, its his birthday in a couple of weeks so I'll be looking for some more bits to go with them. Now to catch up on my Farcebook.
  19. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Congratulations to Sir TH and GDB. The toy fair was packed this morning but I made a few purchases of the diecast variety. An interesting one was a 1930ish Packard made by Hot Wheels. It looks to be approx 1/76 and finished in black it looks very gangsterish. Someone had already dismantled it. Now for a bit of eyelid examination, be back later.
  20. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Just a quick hello as I'm out soon, be back later.
  21. Clever? or wait until his boss gets the bill for damage to the road. https://www.facebook.com/dumpertnl/videos/273059470084047/UzpfSTE4MzYzMDI4MjI6Vks6MzAyMDUwNjEzNDYzODUxNQ/
