  1. There is this.>> https://www.onshape.com/products/free?fbclid=IwAR2CFDaGB2lDq2avlTVqk9hJ-Z8w-xUvT4l0cWOxSJfpHBOKllFSA7VXOfA
  2. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Chris, many years ago I created a strawberry planter out of an old composter. The composter was made up of plastic rings and the bottom ring containing the hatch by which the compost was removed had disintegrated. I used the remains to make the planter which was two feet high and the same diameter. I then filled it with compost and planted a dozen or so strawberry plants. It continued to give a good healthy crop until I moved house. Glad to hear Mrs. GDB is on the mend, hope it continues.
  3. You must have been a bit too late then, Some of the Leyland Gnu's lasted long enough to be painted in EN colours but were only used infrequently by that time.
  4. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I caught up on the news on I-player, then caught up with the Repair Shop, I wish I had the skills of those guys. Now to catch up on Farcebook, be back later.
  5. Those toads don't look very snug, they should be buried in their holes.
  6. As you can see in the picture they were fitted with coach seats. That was the reason for the half height window upstairs, glazing the lower half was unneccessary as it would have been obscured by the seat headrests. The obscured windows downstairs were where the luggage racks were.
  7. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I was a bit miffed last Sunday when I switched the TV on to get the news/weather only to find that they'd moved it from its scheduled slot to an earlier time. The same this afternoon, I switched on at 6:40, the scheduled time expecting the news only to find that it had already been broadcast. To make matters worse the program that was on in place, a repeat of an old 'Mastermind' program could easily be put on at an earlier time even if it made the news a bit later.
  8. Do you remember the six wheel coaches operated by City and for a while after the take over by EN? The most unusual were the Leyland Gnu's with two axles at the front.
  9. Breaking news, a cat has been found to have the coronavirus. If it was a dog it would be bad enough but how do you isolate a cat? Best thing would be to distance yourself from any animal.
  10. There KSW5G's were chosen for conversion to open toppers about 1960 when they were only 7 years old. Back then there was probably a greater need for open top vehicles in seaside resorts so perhaps 10 were needed. The WNO batch were the last side gangway low height buses taken into stock by ENOC, all subsequent orders were for Lodekkas.
  11. Morning all from Estuary-Land. According to the forecast its going to be cold, and tomorrow even colder, not that I'm likely to venture outside. Now time to run a bath, be back later
  12. Many of the open top KSW5G's illustrated are from the batch I mentioned have been illustrated. They can be identified by their WNO 7** registrations. There were 10 in all converted to open top and 7 are known to survive.
  13. The S in KSW stood for short but did not refer to the overall length of the bus but too the length of the bonnet. This was achieved by moving engine components from the front of the engine to the side.
  14. Here it is as it is now.>>
  15. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Scrolling through a model bus group on Farcebook I came across this.>> I recognised it straight away because I built it in about 1980. It was packed away for a house move and then forgotten for about ten years and then rediscovered and donated to the model railway clubs sales stand. It was in better condition when I disposed of it than it is in the photograph. I'd painted it using Halfords car paint rattle cans, Ford? Arctic White and Rootes Limelight with Humbrol green for the wheels, and my rather poor attempt to paint at a stripe at waist level. It has certainly been in the wars since as it appears to have been dropped a couple of times and the superglue I used to build it had 'gone off' and was failing to hold it together. The chap who obtained it has since stripped and dismantled it, rebuilt and painted it (in Greater Glasgow livery) and sold it on to another model bus enthusiast
  16. This looks interesting.>> https://www.facebook.com/tony.walls.731/videos/1521247424716673/?t=3 Before anyone gets too excited its been analysed and is contaminated with lead. This is also interesting.>> https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/heritage-and-retro/heritage/last-months-york-floods-have-revealed-remains-secret-victorian-railway-line-2520309?fbclid=IwAR25xigMoGcE1W4CnoD4JPnp2Ze4twlnTNjJgKjQfMILRHF-TXnhvXooxbk
  17. That looks like an Iron Fairy, also made by Matchbox but nearer to HO scale.
  18. The old Matchbox 1-75 series Weatherill is a pretty good model very near to scale except for the underscale cast in driver. Husky also produced a Massey-Ferguson digger fitted with an angled blade which could be replaced with something more suitable.
