  1. Do I see the Airfix/Dapol dickside crane there as well? (With skinny legs and a grab.)
  2. The major means of personal transport during the period in question was the pushbike. There is the Magnorail system but that is almost as expensive as Faller. Family transport was quite often a motorcycle sidecar combination, some sidecars seating up to 7 persons (apart from grandma mostly children).
  3. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Happy birthday Mike and many more of 'em. School milk, I remember at infants school we had a stove in the corner of the classroom for heating. During the winter months the milk was stacked alongside it to thaw out if it was frozen which it often was. One really cold morning the milk had turned to ice and had expanded and forced the foil tops off. It was still placed alongside the stove and as it thawed it didn't all go back into the bottles and made quite a mess. It was cleaned up but for months afterwards the smell of sour milk was all persuasive.
  4. Thats a 'blast from the past', Auto Replica kits. I have both kits (somewhere), the Riley I finished except for the headlights as the instructions were to drill holes in the front wings to fit them and I didn't have a suitable drill. The Morgan still after 40 years is still awaiting final assembly although painting etc. has been done.
  5. Click on the link and theres a lot more and on the pics just hover the cursor over the pic to get the caption.
  6. The rarest models are the Cresta estate and the Nash Rambler.
  7. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Not a lot to report, still playing catch-up with Farcebook. Re-arranged the fridge so that the stuff with the earliest use by dates is at the front. Neil, you'll have to show Donk how to wear a face mask properly.
  8. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. HH some supermarkets stock grass seed and I'm pretty sure that theres no panic buying. On the lunchtime news it was announced that garden centres are having a bad time because of the lockdown so if you want to support them why not phone or e-mail a local one to see if they can do click and collect. This is normally the busiest time of the year for garden centres and some pundits predict that as many as half of them will go bust due to the shutdown.
  9. Same with the bluebells in Norsey Woods, Billericay. Unless your on the train just east of the station (on the up side).
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Well half of the bread pudding survived until this morning, but only just, but it made a good breakfast. The Royal Mail are still delivering the usual bumph with the post, a brochure arrived yesterday for DFS sofa's, you've gotta laugh. Commiserations Simon on the loss of your friend. Best birthday wishes to Mrs. TPH for tomorrow. The advice is that if you have to make a shopping trip do it only once a week. I'm OK with that as it saves me petrol money and the only reason for shopping daily was the newspapers which I now have delivered.
  11. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The trip down to Tess Coes was quite successful only I forgot entirely about the eggs. Bread, milk and veg was obtained plus a few other items including bread pudding. The problem is to make the bread pudding last beyond tonight a few days, it is rather moreish. The queue to get in although long took only about 20 minutes to get into the store. One slight problem in the queue though, one stupid woman was so busy texting that she didn't notice the queue in front moving forward and a few thought that was the end of the queue until it was pointed out to them and they quite happily went to the real end of the queue. The woman just moved up and carried on texting without saying a word.
  12. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit grey this morning but at least the wind has dropped. Will have to venture out to Tess Coes for bread and milk, and some fresh eggs, fruit and veg if available. At least they're all OK.
  13. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Managed to catch up on Farcebook, the traffic on there has doubled in the last week and it gets noticably slower at certain times of day. I see theres some idiots around, holding parties and even a football match! Now time to catch up on the rest of RMweb, be back later.
  14. It looks like the static diecast I-O-M loco made by Oxford.
  15. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Sun, hail, sleet and now sun again all in the last hour but still cold. I will have to venture out for milk and bread tomorrow, and I'll try to get some fresh fruit and veg. Now to tackle Farcebook, be back later.
