  1. It must be 25-30 years since I drove through that ford. I was driving a Suzuki SJ jeep but even then I took care to drive slowly. The Fiesta was probably going too fast, the cause of many breakdowns in the ford.
  2. All this mentioning of deer and goats venturing into urban areas has made me realise that I haven't seen anywhere near as many urban foxes recently. Probably down to the local take aways being closed. Another benefit of the take aways being closed is a lot less litter, I have seen the litter pickers out in action still. Sadly when things are back to normal so will be the litter.
  3. That ford has caught out many an unsuspecting motorist, especially after a lot of rain.
  4. The P100 conversion would likely be a bit more work. Apart from the base models shortcomings there is a need to extend the wheelbase by 4 mm and scratchbuild a new body.
  5. The connecting rods seem to be out of line as well. As can be seen in the pic.
  6. Morning all from Estuary-Land. As John said a 522 error last night so goodnight all from last night. As Jamie said were all going to be touched by CV19 before its all over. Apart from my brother who because of ongoing medical conditions is high risk. There's members of the local MRC where 75% of the members are over 65 and SEERS where a similar percentage are over 65. I haven't heard of anyone suffering from it in those two groups so fingers crossed. I will not be venturing out today, not because of any virus but the hay fever has started so virus or not its stay indoors.
  7. There was a report in the papers a couple of days ago about someone who got caught stealing PPE equipment. He's looking at a custodial sentence but sadly the PPE equipment he stole is possibly contaminated and now rendered useless.

There's also the yard handling equipment:- https://www.flickr.com/photos/seacoaler/galleries/72157631680615551/
  9. Actually the track looks just like that around the cement works at Purfleet.
  10. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Found I was running out of milk so I popped down to Tess Coes after lunch and surprise surprise there was no queue to go in! I got a few other items such as bread but there was no eggs to be had, Nor was there any bread pudding which means that my diet for the next week will be ever so slightly healthier. Heres your wetsuit:-
  11. Not that far away, deer are invading some parts of Romford. They come from Bedfords Park which is confined to the north and east by the M25.
  12. Theres always an idiot with more money than sense.

It would normally be a flatbed for domestic deliveries with the bagged coal being stacked against the headboard. A few of the bigger coal companies such as Charringtons had a few hopper trucks with a device at the back that weighed and bagged the coal. Merit produced a pretty good pack of coal bags and Peco who took them over may still produce them.

Classix made a Thames like the above and an Austin K type, Base Toys also made a parrot nosed Dodge that was popular with coal merchants.

Thats not a Thames Trader but an ET6 that was replaced by the Trader. Bonneted lorries were usually used as you could get three in the cab.
  16. That explains it. The height given is that at the two verticle white bars at the end of the horizontal bar not that at the centre of the arch. I noticed the road markings also telling drivers of high vehicles to keep to the centre of the road.
  17. Morning all from Estuary-Land. And a foggy morning it is/was too. Flavio, I agree entirely with you regarding wbankers, if I said here what I think of them I'm likely to get banned. Even worse are the insurance companies, bookies with the odds firmly fixed in their favour. I will not be venturing out tomorrow, not even into the garden as the pollen count is predicted to go through the roof. Now to do battle with Farcebook, be back later.
  18. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Farcebook is getting busier by the hour it seems. But I just managed to catch up but it starts again in the morning.
  19. By the looks of the road surface it hasn't been resurfaced at any time recently.
  20. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Not much arrived in the post today, just my bank statement and more junk mail for another furniture sale, can't help having a snigger at that. The bank statement revealed that the modelling tokens are accumulating at a steady rate, one advantage of lockdown I suppose.
  21. Not that I don't like custard, I don't like the skin. My preference is thick and gloopy like volcanic lava, and nearly as hot.
