  1. They came to Hornby with Riverossi IIRC. They were sold off by the hedge fund that ran Hornby in 2017. Production has now ceased altogether.
  2. At one time an older vehicle if it complied with the regulations current at the time of registration it was not necessary to update it. For example the requirement for two rear lights was introduced in 1955. London Transport's RT type buses, all registered before the legislation came into force only ever carried one rear light when in LT service.
  3. It was the same when I lived in Burnham-on-Crouch. The BBC London news carried items from Southend and the entire North Kent coast as far as Margate but north of the River Crouch was ignored. BBC East did occasionally venture that far south but not very often.
  4. And on Youtube. I'm not sure of the legality of letting two kids share a seat though, one sitting on the others lap and no seat belt.
  5. Its a question of size settings. On my lap top only a tiny portion of the picture fills the whole screen.
  6. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Congratulations to Baz and Mrs. Baz. More to do in the garden today as long as the pollen doesn't rise to fast, or I might wait until this evening when its a lot cooler. Fodder run has to be fitted in as well. Looking at the illustration of the wheelbarrow I purchased on E-bay it seems that they've sent the correct body but the wrong frame. I will try the big green or orange sheds again to see if their queues are any shorter and send this one back.
  7. For some of them once is once to often. The Great Ignoramus for example.
  8. Two snippets about coronavirus. In one northern Italian city, Turin or Milan they have found traces of the virus in the sewerage as far back as last September. Being of blood group O also has been found to increase resistance to the disease.
  9. Cant see anything as the picture is too large for the screen.
  10. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I've tidied up the patio and while I was doing so the new wheelbarrow arrived. I started to assemble it, there were no instructions, but then I hit a snag. There is two bolts holding each handle to the body of the barrow but no way could I get the holes to line up. Looking at the holes I saw what was wrong and a quick check with the tape measure confirmed it. The holes in the body of the wheelbarrow are 4 centimetres apart but the holes in the frame are 6.5 centimetres apart. Either they've sent me the wrong frame or the wrong body. It wasn't helped by there being no instructions, not even a list of components.
  11. Morning all from Estuary-Land. The parcel that I missed on Friday has just arrived which means that I can plan the rest of the day other than sitting indoors waiting for the postman's knock. Bright and sunny outside so the G word beckons before the pollen starts to rise. ChrisF I hope you recover from your tumble, that reminded me that I should get a handrail fitted to my stairs. The stairs run between two walls, there had been a handrail but a previous owner had removed it. Its not going to be an easy job as the new handrail will have to be manoeuvred in through a small upstairs window parallel to the staircase. Now to do a bit more in the garden, be back later.
  12. Evening all from Estuary-Land. A bit warm and sticky tonight as a prelude to the weather for the coming week which in one word is going to be HOT, low 30's predicted. I found a couple of dibbers in the old shed today. As with many tools I have more than one of most. The same applies to things like cutlery. This is because my dad came to live with me after mum died and he bought a lot of stuff with him. Thats it for now, be back later.
  13. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Cleared a few more bits out of the shed before the hay fever began to hit. Surprisingly a lot of the shed structure isn't in a too bad condition, the framing in particular. Fortunately many of my dads woodworking tools were in the 'dry' part of the shed and only have a little surface rust. The brambles had penetrated the inside of the shed so they were zapped with the glyphosphate, those outside the shed are in retreat after the same treatment. Tea is now brewing so its be back later.
  14. Do I hear the thunder of hippo feet?
  15. Just received this E-mail from one of our MRC members. Gents how did I miss this !!!!. it was very late at night and I was sitting in bed with the ipad just browsing and I did a google search for a coach I wanted, after a few mins I found it in an on-line shop No issues at this point and all progressed well with the order , Payment and I also received all the delivery tracking information etc . However nothing arrived I tried to contact the seller but the emails are not being delivered . Ive contacted the credit card bank and paypal who are now investigating what looks to be a scam online shop So please don’t order anything from this www.scontininnolo.xyz or any other site which has an email address of service1@aipeck.com hidden in their contacts I’ve since found many other website associated with the same scam ie https://www.honnetemagasindejouetsx.xyz/ I understand the company running this scam uses similar web sites in different languages The bit missed and was the biggest clue this was a scam was they were showing 800 units in stock
  16. Morning all from Estuary-Land. It must have rained overnight going by the dampness of the ground this morning, and Arthur Itis was giving hints last night until I shut him up with a brace of paracetamol. Its a bit windy now with the sun going in and out of the clouds. Most microwaves come with a grill that serves the same purpose. In the three years or so I've had the micro I've never used it preferring the grill on the oven instead. I usually grill fish but the only other time I use the grill is for cheese on toast which my speciality is with chopped onion between two layers of cheese. Talking of culinary delights has anyone tried my bread pudding recipe yet? I'll have to get the ingredients together but checking the cupboards I noted that I'm well stocked with honey. I'm wondering if that could make a good substitute for black treacle (molasses).
