  1. Actually I have some face masks that are a bit better, purchased from Tess Coe's at £3:50 for three. Trouble is they have now sold out.
  2. I wish I'd never posted that, now I'm getting ads for toilet seats .
  3. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Arthur Itis has stayed quiet today but the eczema flared up. A wipe with a cold wet flannel and a liberal application of aqueous cream seems to ease it considerably. Now for some tea which is brewing nicely.
  4. The English Civil War caused proportionally far greater casualties than the American Civil War.
  5. This sort of seat came to mind:-
  6. I find them uncomfortable to wear and needing to wear glasses they do make the glasses steam up and stops the glasses from sitting as they should affecting vision. I won't therefore wear one when driving in fact I will only wear a mask in indoor spaces such as shops.
  7. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I was hoping to get a few bits sorted today but I've remained indoors due to hay fever. I've never had it this late in the year before. Managed to sort out a few more bits for the shed including a padlock clasp. Time for dinner, be back later.
  8. Of the many companies that come under the Bachmann banner there is the Classix die-cast vehicle range. There has been nothing produced since the takeover.
  9. Actually maggots are quite nutritious and are a lot easier and cheaper to produce than beef. In some societies, the Australian aborigines for example they can form a major part of the diet.
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Not much sleep last night, the eczema was itching madly due to the heat and I forgot to apply the Voltarol last night, thats why I'm a bit late this morning. As Tony said it was heaving at Southend, with the windows open I could hear the traffic on the A13, it was very heavy even at 11 last night.
  11. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Haven't been sitting outside but with as many windows as possible open I didn't realise just how noisy my neighbours are. Temperature is still 26:5 C. but its slowly going down. A few bits to do then its bedtime.
  12. There is a warning on the Voltarol packaging about taking ibuprofen when using it. As I said above, if your on any sort of medication check with your GP or pharmacist first.
  13. I gave a like to that as there isn't a cynical button.
  14. Then there's the Oxford Diecast approach as on many of their bus and coach models. Mould the model in clear plastic with windows and tampo print the solid sides.
  15. Perhaps when Trump says jump some politicians should know the answer is not "How high".
  16. On the 22nd of this month I started working for my last employer, 50 years ago! I stayed with them until I retired just over 12 years ago.
  17. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Another day of doing very little, in this heat no surprise. The old pills were handed in to Tesco's pharmacy for disposal. The reason that they weren't used IIRC was they had an adverse side effect, when I had the infection I was on four different antibiotics, not at the same time but trying to find one that was effective without giving any side effects. A different one was tried each week and it was the third one that done the trick, I felt a lot better after taking it and I told my GP that it was better so after I'd finished the fourth week he put me back on it and I then recovered quite quickly. I have started to use Voltarol gel for Arthur Itis and it seems very effective. You should discuss it with your GP or pharmacist before using it as although a gel used externally it still reacts with some other drugs such as ibuprofen. We lost one of our MR club members in March through bone cancer. He had spent the previous three years on fenatnyl. He was 90 when he died and he lasted two years more than his oncologist estimated.
  18. There's the Langley kit. A bit pricey at about £40 though.
  19. Sorting out my medicine cupboard I came across a box of forgotten pills at the back of the cupboard. They were issued to me in 2000 by the pharmacy at the local hospital. The name on the advice leaflet is Tarivid (Ofloxacin). I'm pretty sure they were given to me when I had a UTI and are some sort of antibiotic.
