  1. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Like Jamie this is an evening of me not doing very much. I saw a mention of a beer festival at St. Pancras marking the 152nd. anniversary of the beer store in the Undercroft (where its being held). I assumed its been cancelled but I can find no mention of it being cancelled. Its supposed to run from the 1st-10th of October if anyone's interested. Now for a brew of my own, tea. Be back later.
  2. If you click on the bell symbol in the top right of the panel it says 'Notification settings' click on that and at the bottom of the page you should find the switch off option.
  3. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Filled the hole made by the fox and capped it with a concrete slab. Interesting item on the Repair Shop today, a treadle operated jig saw (the machine not the puzzle). I remember my dad having one back in the 50's but I can't remember what he made with it. It certainly wouldn't comply with current health and safety. Tea has brewed, be back later.
  4. This is the joke thread and we are discussing politicians. Oh hang on....
  5. Hello again from Estuary-Land. Our bin wagons dawn chorus was just that this morning, well for the black (land-fill) sacks anyway. The pink re-cycling sacks have only just gone and now every things cleared. Will have to get on with filling the fox holes while the weather is dry, as its beneath a large shrub where nothing grows an old concrete slab is going in to stop any repeat. I too noticed the double avatar, no doubt Andy will get it sorted but I doubt it is very high on his list of priorities.
  6. Many such locomotives ran with tenders, usually converted from an old wagon.
  7. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I had the same problem as ChrisF this morning, slow response and blank spaces where some pics should be. However Andy must have put a bit more coal on the fire and it all seems OK now. Time to run a bath, be back later.
  8. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I got another TV licence spam today, the usual thing 'Your direct debit was declined please renew direct debit'. They should know by now, by the number of their e-mail addresses that I've blocked that I'm not going to fall for that one. There seems to be very little traffic on RMweb this evening, where is everyone?
  9. Its back! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0JTta67aUE
  10. I'm looking forward to this.
  11. I would like to have electric lighting and disc wheels for a proposed Colonel Stephens type layout. I appreciate that the range of choices with all the wheel and lighting variations would make undecorated versions unviable so perhaps with each colour variation the type of wheels and lighting should be specified for those wanting to do repaints.
  12. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I quite like the new layout of RMweb but there's one little niggle. On the old RMweb I could set it to show my activity stream on a thread by thread basis. The new one lists individual posts which means having to scroll down quite some way to find the oldest unread post. As well as that it must take up a lot of space.
  13. Oxford Diecast sell off seconds and damaged diecast models.
  14. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I forgot about the update this morning and I had just started reading ER's when the plug was pulled. At least its not this problem:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-54239180?SThisFB&fbclid=IwAR0V3DnEWwBOY7Qt3rQVoNAAGzsP_L5KUdU_74mME0EwVem92tVtDB9MklA New boiler is working well, not only is the water hotter out of the tap but the radiators heat up a lot quicker than with the old boiler. EDIT couldn't find the edit button at first, its in the three dots top right.
  15. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Indeed, my mind is truly boggled Dave. Another case of left hand/right hand. When making tea I was always led to understand that after warming the pot and adding the tea that you had to bring the water to the boil again and pour it as it was still boiling. Now its been suggested that the water only has to be at 80 degrees for making tea. What a load of baloney, the result would be very weak tea that takes ages to brew. I've just brewed a pot of tea, with boiling water so its be back later.
  16. I wonder if they can be sheared like a sheep.
  17. You could always make out that you can't speak French. For that matter you could make up your own foreign language to utterly confuse them.
  18. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Another lazy day doing not very much but I'll have to get the gate and the holes dug by the foxes sorted. That has often happened and then Early Risers sometimes appears as a double entry. Hopefully the actions being taken tomorrow morning will get things sorted.
  19. We are probably all aware that the police officer recently murdered while on duty, Sgt. Matt Ratana was a New Zealander where he commenced his police career. This is a tribute from his former New Zealand colleagues.
  20. I thought the four wheel brake third looked very Great Eastern. And before anyone takes me to task over that they are generic coaches after all.
  21. I've just noticed something. When I went to make the above post ER's was not showing on the list so I went in via notifications. When I went to make the post my previous post was still there in the reply box although it had been posted, a simple matter of clearing the box. I was wondering if this could be the reason for ER's not being visible on some occasions?
