  1. The pair of Streamlined B17's didn't look to bad.
  2. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Arthur Itis has started banging away again so a couple paracetamols have been taken. Watching Countryfile at the moment but when that finishes a switch over to the GP highlights, if previous programs are anything to go by I should do so a few minutes before the start of the race.
  3. The Hornby kits are much underrated, its a pity that they're not made any more.
  4. I have only my watch to adjust back. All other timepieces except one adjust automatically. That one is my dads old digital bedside clock, at least 30 years old. I leave it on GMT as like the aforementioned grandfather clock it can only be adjusted forward so you have to go forward 23 hours just to go back one. Add to that the switch to change the time is very sensitive and its very easy to overshoot and have to go round again.
  5. I have noticed that the Wills conservatory is a perfect fit to the side wall of the old Hornby Victorian semi-detached houses kit. Same for the Victorian shops kit which shares many of the same mouldings.
  6. I ran down the list as far as this one. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-02-22/passengers-rescued-after-bus-crashes-into-melbourne-overpass/7188800 This line of the news report stuck out. "The name of the operator, Gold Bus, was taped over to avoid embarrassment."
  7. Why not? You seem ideally qualified.
  8. Strangely my PE master was also a sadist and Welsh. Went under the nickname of 'Bucket'. After I left school he was suspended for making a lad do exercise with a broken arm. He was then rapidly retired.
  9. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Persisting down first thing this morning, then bright sunshine and now its come over dark and grey. As much as I would love to have a dog its simply not possible as I am now to old and decrepit to care for one. When I took the load of old pillows and towels round to the lady from the dog rescue charity I said that to her and she agreed that it takes a lot of commitment to have a dog. Still thinking about what meat I will select for C*******s dinner, venison is still on the list if I can find any. Its not farmed, most of it comes from semi wild herds that are culled and that culling takes place at specific times but certainly not this time of year in the rutting season.
  10. You could always use lockdown as an excuse. You don't have to miss out on roast spuds or any other roast veg or Yorkshire puddings. Get yourself an air fryer but not one of those cheap ones with a wire basket. You need one with the basket that resembles a saucepan with a perforated bottom. I used mine for roasting my spuds and parsnips last Christmas, all I needed to do was drizzle a drop of olive oil on them and roast for about 10-12 minutes, the air fryer acts as a mini fan oven. It uses no more power than my microwave but a damn site less than the conventional oven.
  11. The last 'young and charismatic' president was Kennedy and look what happened to him.
  12. Best deterrent would be to place a concrete beam the same height as the bridge across the road about ten metres ahead of the bridge.
  13. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The rain has finally arrived and now its bucketing down. I have spent the last five C*********'s on my own but I prefer it that way, no arguments over the TV control (not that I watch much C*******s TV if at all), and I can please myself what I do and when I do it. I'm not a great lover of turkey and each year I like to ring the changes. Last years C*******s dinner was wild caught salmon grilled. This year I'm thinking of a venison steak, if I can get it. Now to get on with today's dinner, be back later.
  14. Don't forget that most American fire brigades outside of major conurbations are volunteer brigades.
  15. It hadn't changed much up until Sep. 2019 except for removal of the chicane and sidewalks. (Google Earth)
  16. It appears there might have been another fire truck behind the burning vehicle. Note that the road was getting very wet before the visible fire crew 'sprang' into action. It could of course be ice that the lobsters were packed in melting. I was wondering what triggered the fire, I thought it might be the marker lights carried by most American trucks shorting out after being damaged in the accident.
  17. Just as well SWMBO didn't turn up at that moment.
  18. I have reported a post that suggested dishonesty on the part of Osbourne's. Incompetence and poor record keeping maybe but there's no evidence of dishonesty.
