  1. As I said I've had no problems with Union Blues jeans and they even offer a high waistband pair. One drawback as with many other jeans is they are not colour fast, not a problem as I wash my jeans separately from other items. No trouble with belts either as I wear braces.
  2. Not all Irish jokes show the Irish as stupid. Some such as the dead donkey raffle joke is quite clever.
  3. And a lot of Irish jokes originate in Ireland and seem to be directed at the Ulstermen.
  4. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Like Rick and the Q I had a bad night last night. When I went to bed last night the sore foot wasn't causing too much grief only for it to wake me up at gawd-knows-what-hour feeling like my foot was being stabbed by a red hot knife. I eventually went back to sleep but didn't wake up until nearly nine. As HH would say Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. Not all of them, some were/are mates of cabinet ministers. Just a thought. In the news this morning is that Meghan Markle has suffered a miscarriage and my sympathies go out to her as they would to any mother to be in those circumstances. The news set me thinking, if she has a healthy child that child will most likely be born in the US and have dual citizenship. What if that child grows up and becomes US president and during that presidency a disaster befalls the British royal family and he/she becomes next in line to the throne. Better not think about it too much, King Donald anyone?
  5. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I didn't try the venison tonight, I really didn't have enough time so its tomorrow now. Made do with a 'ping' dinner tonight. The ankle has stopped throbbing but a brace of co-codamol just before bed should sort that out. Now to get back to sorting through Farcebook.
  6. I know a few people who must come from this town.
  7. For jeans try www.jdwilliams.co.uk and look out for a brand called Union Blues. A bit more expensive but well worth the extra.
  8. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Popped down to Tesco this afternoon for a few bits missed yesterday and to check out the availability/quality of various ingredients. Went pretty well except for one cockwomble who not looking where he was going pushed his trolley into my foot, right on the sore spot. The throbbing has now subsided but its still sore.
  9. Our local Homebase did become Bunnings for a while. Before Bunnings took over there was talk of it closing down.
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Been sorting out the necessary cooking utensils for doing the venison. I found a frying pan just the right size at the back of the cupboard but it appeared to have been put away unwashed. So out with the scouring pads etc. and a bowl of hot soapy water and believe it or not the grunge just washed off. So the scouring pads went back and I have a nice clean frying pan. Its my habit to rinse utensils after use then put them aside to be washed later. What must have happened is that once I'd rinsed the pan it appeared to be clean and I'd put it away but cooking oil left on it oxidised leaving a brown stain. I'll let you all know how I got on later. PS I hope our lady of the awl is OK, haven't heard from her lately even though some here have been a bit naughty.
  11. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Just about getting used to this new style Farcebook. The last couple of evenings it started buffering and I gave up so there's a lot more to catch up on, be back later.
  12. Agreed, but what makes them 'quickies' is that they are generic. A lot of effort has gone into getting the basics right including on this thread where feedback has been taken notice of.
  13. Lesney quote 1/68 but like many Lesney models that can be taken with a pinch of salt.
  14. Did anyone else report the duplicate posts? I did about twenty minutes ago and now they're gone.
