  1. Most of Kellogg's products also contain palm oil as do many vegan products.
  2. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Happy birthday ChrisF. Woken up by Arthur Itis this morning but he's gone away now without chemical assistance. It might be a side effect from Monday's jab as on Wednesday I woke up with almost every joint feeling as if it was glued together but when I started moving there was no pain and the joints soon loosened up. Now time to run a bath, be back later.
  3. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Sorry to hear of your problems Simon and I hope they sort themselves out soonest. I've been looking into the history of Southends other two piers. Yes Southend once had three piers. As well as the well known pleasure pier there was two short piers just to the east of that pier. One was the Corporation Tramways coal pier which was used to bring in fuel for the tramway power station. The coal was transferred into three special hopper fitted trams for delivery to the power station. Cheek by jowl with the corporation pier was the gasworks pier which was also rail served and steam operated. This pier also incorporated a viaduct that carried the rails over the seafront road into the gas works. A very interesting feature of the gasworks pier was that it had a kink in it. This was due to Southend Council refusing the gas company permission to erect the pier. As it so happened the gas company's land straddled the border between the boroughs of Southend and Southchurch which at the time were two separate boroughs. So they applied for permission from Southchurch for the pier and duly received it. The pier followed the boundary between the two boroughs exactly including the kink.
  4. New York 1940's. Does anyone know who made the 'Batmobile' Yellow cabs?
  5. A lot of bad parking is laziness, you often see cars in supermarket car parks at all sort of angles and without the wheels straightened up. They've just swung into an empty space without caring about how they leave their cars.
  6. My friend who is a couple of months short of his 61st. birthday is having his jab tomorrow morning. He lives not far from Tony but has no underlying medical conditions.
  7. I had one of those Suzuki Carry minivans, only it was badged as a Vauxhall Rascal. You could squeeze it into the tightest of places. Only thing was your legs were the crumple zone. At the time I was practicing bangernomics so I probably wouldn't have noticed any extra dents.
  8. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Shopping done, caught up with the bit of Farcebook that I missed last night and now to catch up with 'Death in Paradise' on I-player.
  9. Postman's just delivered a couple of books on subjects forbidden here on ER's so I'll be having a good read later. Time to go out and do a bit of shopping, be back later.
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. What with the Zoom meeting last night I was expecting to be up late. But Farcebook had other ideas and crashed out so I went to bed. I was almost finished anyway so I'll catch up this morning. Thats after another muggatee, be back later.
  11. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Just had a very enjoyable Zoom talk by John Hillier of the Bahamas Locomotive Society, detailing the history of the locomotive in preservation. Now to catch up on RMweb and Farcebook.
  12. Something to do with Bob not only being your uncle?

  14. Somethings going wrong here. To post the submit button doesn't seem to work and I have to reload to post. Then I have to clear the editor but my last post didn't clear even then so I had to highlight it and then delete it.
  15. Having said that I'm having problems posting on ER's. Every time I post it now freezes and to post I have to reload. Its also repeating a lot of posts.
  16. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The soreness that I experienced yesterday following my jab (on Monday) has disappeared. However the sore foot has returned with the warmer damper weather.
  17. Some truck drivers I know refuse to drive car carriers because of the overhang.
