  1. Another comment on new technology.
  2. Sarah Siddons is a big locomotive, power equivalent of a 37 IIRC. She certainly would not fit into the tunnels at Ryde.
  3. IIRC they had some LSWR road vans which will soon be available from Kernow models.
  4. Oops, forgot this, brown trouser time.
  5. Evening all from Estuary-Land. A bit late this evening, been chatting to my niece for a good hour. As I mentioned a few weeks ago I'm doing my will and I mentioned to my niece my collection of old maps. She asked if she could have them and I said of course she can. After all she is joint beneficiary with her brother to my estate. I don't do internet banking but I do use PayPal, the other day I was looking for an item, I found what I was looking for from two different traders, same item, similar price but one didn't do PayPal so the one who did got my business. Time to put the kettle on, be back later.
  6. Its some sort of plover but which I have no idea.
  7. I was T-boned by a car coming out of a side turning and I got the classic 'I didn't see you'. It was a bright sunny day and my car was bright yellow (BT yellow).
  8. About ID's campaign to close down Farcebook. Why not make it easy to use and without the ridiculous rules. That will confuse the users no end and it will implode.
  9. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. There are (not all) users of mobile phones who are selfish and stupid. The other day I nearly cannoned into a guy who stopped without warning to text on his phone. As for those who use a mobile while driving, no comment. Quite so, see my comments above. Same here, I don't need one so why should I be forced to use one. I have been vaccinated and I'm quite happy to take a test to prove that I'm free of the virus. I would carry proof that I am corvid free but as I have no intention of making it electronic.
  10. Salope is a slovenly woman with loose morals, a sl*t in English. EDIT naughty word software.
  11. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit warmer this morning but a bit overcast. Forecast is for possible showers, the car needs a good clean. I don't do internet banking, I don't trust the internet and I don't have a mobile phone which seems to be a requirement. More worrying though is that vaccination passports will be in the form of an app on your mobile phone, no mention of those who don't have a mobile. The hay fever is starting up again this morning so tissues at the ready but breakfast first, be back later.
  12. Yet the preserved Metropolitan Bo-Bo Sarah Siddons has ran successfully on the main line third rail.
  13. They might be useful to a 009 modeller, if the locos are runners.
  14. They had electronics in 1978 when the stock was designed. Its possibly the replacements/updating of those electronics that is the problem.
  15. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Had a dose of the hay fever this evening but it seems to have subsided. I realise that it must be at least 10-11 years since I last visited as they hadn't built the hangers when I last visited. That was on the occasion of a fly in by a few appropriate aircraft including a replica Sopwith Camel. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't fitted with a rotary engine but I imagine that a working rotary are pretty hard to come by. At least the owner used Castrol R so that it smelt right. Hopefully it will be open later this year and I can visit. Great news Dave.
  16. I've paid my deposit for a LNER liveried one when they were first announced but I've heard nothing since.
  17. This one might interest Neil. https://www.livescience.com/gold-ring-english-civil-war.html?utm_source=notification
  18. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Remembered to get some glue today but doing other things means that I haven't started on the stock boxes yet. Have you got an electric supply to the shed? I read somewhere that there is a device that you plug into a socket and it uses the house wiring to transmit wi-fi. I went there a few years ago when they were just opening. I'd like to re-visit some time, maybe this summer.
  19. Not related to fatbergs I hope.
  20. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Happy birthday Andy and many more of them. Arthur Itis was going hammer and tongs this morning, Nurofen has been deployed and shortly I'll be soaking in the bath.
