  1. Will this do? My dads job was Car Parking Supervisor for the London Borough of Havering. The payment machines were set up not only to reject* foreign coins but collected them in a special bin. This came in handy for any staff taking foreign holidays. We made frequent visits to Germany and the Deutschmarks came in handy. *At the time (70's-80's) British coins were the only ones that did not contain ferrous metal so to capture foreign coins only required a magnet.
  2. There's always the Mediterranean.
  3. At first I thought it was the old Triang Transcontinental model.
  4. Someone doesn't know their left from their right.
  5. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Another eyelid inspection turned into a marathon, nearly three hours. Returning to the full English breakfast, my meal this evening will be an omelette. What about a full English omelette? Prepare the bacon, sausage and black pudding as you would for the pie adding the diced bread and mushrooms if you wish. Brown in the pan with a little oil then add the omelette mix poured evenly over the contents of the pan. The omelette mix is two large eggs with a dash of milk or cream (optional) with seasoning to taste whipped until it is foaming and then poured quickly into the pan. Baked beans are strictly forbidden and tomatoes only if fresh thinly sliced as a garnish.
  6. Such makes/models disappear quickly once the manufacturer has ceased to trade. In documentary films from the early 50's you will probably see a few Jowett Javelins but only a few years later there were few if any to be seen.
  7. Perhaps you've forgotten that you may have revealed the method of neutralising Throat-ripper and Emasculator? All one needs is a pocket full of sausage and cheese.
  8. When I started working for the council I was in the rents department. After one eviction it was found that both gas and electricity meters (in the same cabinet) had been by-passed. The electricity with a piece of lightening conductor and the gas with a piece of garden hose.
  9. There is a case of a couple loading up their Hummer with plastic cans of petrol and on the way back home it caught fire.
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. The jab on Thursday is beginning to take effect, sore arm, stiff joints etc. The stiff joints clear up as soon as I start moving. In the news this morning, not sure if this should be in the bridge bashing thread. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/breaking-huge-120-tonne-bridge-24114649#source=push Now to run a bath, be back later.
  11. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Teas made, biscuits ready and watching the New Zealand railway program on Channel 5.
  12. Hello again from Estuary-Land. I felt very tired this afternoon so went for some eyelid inspection and only just surfaced an hour and a half ago. Might be after effects of the jab, hopefully thats all. I found a H-D 3-rail forum, apparently they are very power hungry and require at least one amp. The original controllers might be a bit dodgy due to age and a Duette is recommended. My friend said he has a Duette and will try that.
  13. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Bumped into my friend at Tess Coes this lunchtime. He collects Hornby-Dublo three rail and is having a problem, he cant get any of them to work. When power is applied they just sit there and hum. Sourcing an original H-D controller is difficult and any would be suspect as they would all be at least 50 yeas old. Eye lids are drooping, better go and inspect them
  14. Dave, I hope your dad gets his mojo back again.
  15. Are you sure thats not a scam? I would check it out with the BA just to make sure.
  16. What option did you choose? I suspect # 4. My first jab put my immune system into overdrive, aching joints, sore arm and eczema flaring up but that is receding now. I too had my second jab and no ill effects discernible, I didn't even feel it. I didn't feel it possibly because it was injected near the top of my arm and higher than the first jab.
  17. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Had my second jab yesterday and no apparent after effects but I still have the stiff joints from the first jab. Weather outlook here is much the same as the rest of the country, grey and wet with an expected high of 14.
