  1. There are literally hundreds of different beers available in Belgium, almost all with its own shaped and styled drinking vessel. There is, or was a shop in Ostend that just sold the drinking vessel so whatever your tipple of choice you could drink it from the appropriate vessel.
  2. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Many happy returns to Sherry and many more of them. A bit grey this morning but predicted to clear before the next rain arrives. A parcel should be arriving today from the red box company today but I don't know when, hopefully its at a convenient time. Time to put the kettle on, be back later.
  3. They'd soon have something to complain about if the money wasn't spent. (On things like the police, roads etc.)
  4. Even the solid white tablets can disintegrate when being removed from blister packs.
  5. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Although I can pop into my GP's surgery to make an appointment I have on some occasions phoned up to get an appointment and I've never had any problems. Only drawback is they don't do blood tests, patients have to go to the hospital for those. The muntjacs are quiet tonight, perhaps they don't like the rain.
  6. What do you expect from a pen1s extension.
  7. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I've never had any problem booking appointments at my GP surgery as I usually go in in person as the surgery is a few minutes walk from my house. Mind you I haven't needed to book an appointment since covid began except for the jabs and that was simply a case of phoning the surgery to fix an appointment. I wasn't even told not to turn up early for my jabs but when I did about half an hour early for my second jab I was able to go straight in after my details had been checked. There were no queues but they were busy.
  8. Many of the stretch limo operators here are very dodgy characters indeed.
  9. Could be he (or she) was looking for a parking space. As we all know that demands the drivers entire concentration over consideration of other road users let alone a 1,000 ton freight train.
  10. I 'won' an item last Wednesday on E-bay, duly paid for it and it arrived on Saturday.
  11. Hello again from Estuary-Land. I thought I'd posted the above this morning but it was still in the editor. Now bathed, breakfasted and about to have another muggatee. The muntjacs were making a lot of noise last night, must be the mating season. Debating when it will be a good time to wash the bedsheets, there's no room indoors to dry them and the forecast is for rain. Thats enough of my ramblings, be back later.
  12. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Wall to wall sunshine at the moment but its not predicted to last. The bees on the California lilac are making the most of it while they can. Now off to run a bath, be back later.

  14. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Someones been turning the rain on and off all day but its off at the moment. I take it that the car had stood idle for some time. There must be a few cars back on the road after standing idle for ages due to Covid. Some of these may well have deteriorated to such an extent that they are dangerous. Fortunately my car has been used a couple of times a week throughout and last week I gave it a run and no problems came to light. If your car has been standing its a good idea to test the brakes gently on a clear road.
  15. It is said that the best anti-theft device you can have fitted to a car in the US is a manual gearbox.
  16. Mine is a Phillips. IIRC Tess Coes had them on special offer. Usual price is about £40-£60.
  17. Yes, anything that can be done in a deep fat fryer. All it needs is a bit of oil drizzled over the item to be fried and then shaken to distribute the oil.
  18. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Many happy returns Rick and many more of 'em. ID, Have you ever considered an air-fryer? I have had one for about three or four years now. I use it for chips mostly, usually oven chips (definitely not frozen ones) but I can cook a pie with them as well. I also use it for the roast root veg at Christmas. Like all such devices there's good and bad. Do not get one with the ordinary fryer wire basket, the better ones have a saucepan with a perforated bottom, and its easier to clean. Tea has brewed so its be back later.
