  1. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Up early and already breakfasted which is rather unusual for me at this hour on a Sunday morning. I put it down to getting to bed earlier than usual last night. The reason for the early night is that I finished ploughing through Farcebook in record time. Indeed someone seems to have given it a kick up the backside, I just hope it lasts. A bit more spring cleaning to do today, the amount of extra washing and cleaning required after last weeks not being very well is unbelievable. Thats it for now, be back later.
  2. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Quiet evening, I gather there's 22 blokes kicking an inflated bladder around somewhere. Just ordered some more diecast models from Hong Kong. At the moment the exchange rate is very good. Usually its about HK$9 = £1 but at the moment its HK$10:50 = £1. Thats a big chunk out of the VAT that will have to be paid.
  3. I think they're now exempt, the newest must be at least 30 years old.
  4. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Having mentioned the lack of pollinating insects this morning they turned up for the afternoon shift. At least two different varieties of bee and a couple of butterflies and more arriving by the minute. Cold dinner again tonight, quiche and salad, just can't be @r$d to even switch the microwave on. Kettle is on for tea so it's be back later.
  5. Hello again from Estuary-Land. Is it me or is there a distinctive lack of bees, butterflies and other pollinators? Normally my California lilac is covered in insects at this time but there's nary a one. I suspect the recent cold weather is to blame, the insects came out in the warm March weather and were zapped when it turned cold.
  6. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Nothing from Arthur Itis or Si Attica this morning. Best wishes to Gordon and Daves dad and any other ER under the weather. Now bath time, be back later.
  7. Evening all from Estuary-Land. The drowsiness has departed, I felt sleepy for no apparent reason this afternoon but was OK after some eyelid inspection. Either Si Attica keeping me awake or the after effects of the jab. Tea has brewed and now to tackle Farcebook.
  8. Drunken lorry driver. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-cambridgeshire-57116195
  9. Another idiot. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-norfolk-55180594
  10. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Despite this afternoons eyelid inspection I'm still feeling tired. Si Attica has gone quiet for a while though. Thats interesting, I wonder if any research is being done? As to earthquakes, this is the last fifty days in the UK. http://earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/earthquakes/recent_uk_events.html
  11. Si Attica has quietened down but is still hanging around. Problem is that there are things to do that require a bit of bending which is when he tries to jump in.
  12. Back in the 70's/80's my employer had three or four armoured Transit vans used for wages distribution. They only lasted a couple of years each as the armour put them at or even above the GVW.
  13. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Not much trouble from Arthur Itis at the moment but his sidekick Si Attica is determined to make up for it. In the meantime a stretch out on the bed might bring some relief.
  14. What noise is that? Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch perhaps.
  15. We had a Zoom talk this evening, the 'East Anglian Scene' by Dr. Iain Scotchman. Among the subjects that came up was the Shenfield Shark. The reason apparently that it hasn't been moved is that no one knows who owns it! An attempt to move it using a skate was started a few years ago but that would have involved moving it on the skate to Chelmsford before it could be removed from the track. Its pretty obvious that a lot could go wrong with such a move and no ones willing to take the risk.
  16. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Just had an excellent talk on Zoom about the recent East Anglian rail scene. Mustn't say too much here as its verboten but they are now scrapping stock that I remember going into service only what seems like a short few years ago. Then you realise that the newest Mk. III's are about forty years old. I might not bother with Farcebook tonight as its playing up as in dumping you out and asking you to sign in, a right PITA.
  17. I have it delivered to my e-mail so I was unaware of any problem.
  18. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The final pile of washing (sheets and towels) is in the machine and churning away. I couldn't find the tool to undo the fluff trap on the machine so the trap remained uncleared. Needless to say as soon as the machine was on the go I opened a drawer and there was the tool in front of me . Not to worry, it won't stop the machine working, if it blocks it just bypasses. Tea has brewed, be back later.
  19. It seems a few others cannot access the pic as well. Is it possible to put it into a format that all can access such as Flickr?
  20. It seems that my PC has MP3 as music only and I am unable to view it.
