  1. I meant the whole D78 fleet. Some are being converted to diesel electric and some are being converted to battery electric. As well as that some have been scrapped and others are set aside for future use.
  2. Britain and France had a similar system of taxing cars on their horsepower rating. In both instances it was calculated on piston area but a slightly different measurement was used. Under the British system the traction avante was rated at 15 horsepower. Under the French system it was 11 chevaux (horsepower).
  3. Indeed they were. Matchbox followed Airfix and produced plastic kits of vintage cars and the Citroen roadster was one that they made a kit of.
  4. Evening all from Estuary-Land. After I'd watched the closing laps of the GP I switched the TV off. When I switched it on again to watch the news it went into scan mode again so I had to watch it on my computer. I've tried it again but it still goes into scan mode so I'll leave it until the morning when its a bit cooler as heat seems to be the cause of the problem. Oh damn, that means they're sending her back.
  5. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The TV has been going into scan mode again. Up until the last few days its been behaving itself but as soon as the weather warms up it starts playing up. Fortunately I was able to get it working again this afternoon and was able to catch the last twenty minutes of the British GP, I won't give the result in case anyone is going to watch it later. Arthur Itis has been full of himself today and Nurofen has been deployed and is keeping him quiet for now. Tea has brewed so its be back later.
  6. Hamilton has been given a ten second penalty.
  7. Something to debate. https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/67560/should-f1-pursue-the-sprint-race-weekend/
  8. Morning all from Estuary-Land. The rating system has been a feature of RMweb from the beginning. It has been altered and amended from time to time and everyone has a running tally of their ratings (just above the total of posts made under your avatar on each post). If you click on your avatar you might see 'days won', the member who has the most likes (and other ratings) in a day has 'won the day'. I assume there is a league table somewhere of those who have successfully won the day but I haven't found it. Each day a leader board is shown of the top four recipients of ratings. We would probably find that many ER's are on that leader board, indeed one or two ER's will possibly top the league. I checked and I find I have 'won the day' 87 times but even then I've a long way to go to catch up with some other ER's.
  9. Its about time this putting clocks backwards and forwards stopped. It was only created to increase munition production in WW1 and should have been scrapped years ago.
  10. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Still a bit sticky but the pollen is dying down and I can breath again. A fox has apparently taken up residence in my back garden. A rather small one so probably one of this years cubs, I went out earlier and placed a bowl of water for it where it will be in the shade at midday and a couple of hours each side.
  11. I've checked this against the Matchbox 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior which is the same vehicle with a different badge. They are virtually identical and I can confirm that the Nissan is 1/76 scale. (Prototype is 19 feet long, model is 3 inches long.
  12. Our collections are as follows:- Weekly collection. Black sack, general waste (landfill). Pink sack, recycling, even tetra-pack and microwavable containers. Green wheelie bin. Garden waste and some vegetable food waste such as peelings. Fortnightly collection. Orange box. Glass bottles and jars.
  13. Verstappen won the sprint.
  14. Has anyone mentioned the cars from Yat Ming and Real-X. Yat Ming has produced a few cars in 1/72 scale including a Jaguar X-type. Real-X are very good, far superior to other oriental models IMHO and the level of detail is amazing.
  15. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Went to Tess Coes for a few supplies and managed to get home before the hay fever kicked in. Luckily most of the house stays cool even in the hottest weather, about 3C less than outside at the moment.
  16. My order arrived this morning, the Clio and the 205 (+ an Oxford Escort). Not taken out of the packaging yet but looking good.
  17. I'm not sure I would engage this company or not.
  18. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Will have to venture out on a fodder run for a few things such as bread as Tess Coes had sold out of my favourite. I have to make an appointment to have the boiler serviced, it was installed last September but if I leave it too late there will probably be a queue so I'll get it done by the end of next month. Just seen the weather forecast, 31C predicted for London tomorrow so I will stay indoors for most of the day. At least the dry weather is pushing eastwards which will help those where there has been flooding. No news from Dom and Robert. Dom as we know has a more serious matter to deal with anyway and communications are out in the affected areas, even mobile phones but hopefully we will hear from both of them soon.
  19. The question is. Is it meant to offend? If it isn't then why bother?
