  1. If they were serving LDC I imagine a certain bear would keep catching the bus back to go through the refreshment stop several times.
  2. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I heard some distant thunder a couple of hours ago but it has stayed away, still hot and sticky. The swap-meet/toy-fair is going ahead at Rayleigh tomorrow. I wonder if any traders will be missing as most do not have a permanent business premises and rent out tables at toy fairs and exhibitions. I've never been married but I had several girlfriends and shared a home with a couple but for various reasons nothing came of it. My sister will be celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary next year but my brother divorced his first wife about twenty years ago and married a harridan who expects him to wait on her hand and foot despite his health problems.
  3. The honeysuckle in the council shrubbery is beginning to flower. I hasn't always been there, when I first moved in over thirty years ago there was a honeysuckle by my front door. Then a few years later the honeysuckle started appearing in the council shrubbery. The one by my front door has since died but I hope to recover some seeds from its offspring for replanting. I intend to plant it at the edge of the garden where it will get more sun.
  4. Oops sorry, it was the Bell Common tunnel.
  5. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. TV on the blink again, at least while the Olympics are on I'm not too bothered. I was listening to the traffic news just after 2 PM. It was announced that there had been an accident in the Bell Common tunnel and two lanes were closed clockwise.
  6. I tried the TV again and this time it deigned to work. So I watched a bit of the BBC news channel, it was giving the news other than the O word so I watched it for a bit. I did not mean all sports just the Olympics, other sports hinted at such as F1 and football have their own threads anyway and no doubt the Olympics will follow suit if they haven't done so already.
  7. I wonder what illegal substance they're taking.
  8. They're not opium poppies by any chance?
  9. My order was dispatched on the 21st. No sign of the postman yet this morning and he's usually been and gone by now.
  10. No mention of the O word yet. How about making this thread an Olympic free zone.
  11. Can we declare ER's an Olympic free zone?
  12. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A lot cooler this morning and persisting down until about an hour ago and the thunder has rolled off into the distance. Not sure if its worth the hassle of installing the new TV as all that is showing is the O word and the few programs I would want to watch I can on the computer. I spoke too soon its persisting down again. My brother last visited me thirteen years ago and now due to his health condition is unlikely to do so again but we talk on the phone a few times every year. Same with my sister but distance is the main reason but again we are in contact frequently by phone.
  13. Thats the one, pity that there's no pics of the other side to confirm that the veranda was indeed at the side of the cabin. I wonder what the frame was from, its quite heavily built, a brake van perhaps?
  14. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Cold dinner this evening, too hot and sticky to do any cooking so its salads and cold cooked meat. I managed to get my will sorted during this week. I've been waiting for ages to get some witnesses to my signature due to covid restrictions but we had a SEERS committee meeting last week so a couple of the members obliged. One of my witnesses is a retired solicitor which helped.
  15. This you might find useful. https://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/products/collectors-box These are models returned as faulty. It might not even be the models themselves that are faulty. I've had a couple where only the plastic case is damaged but the model was perfect.
  16. Also the English Channel has plenty of sandbanks and there is sandbars off of both sides of the Channel. In fact this could be where air cushion craft could have the advantage by flying over such areas where conventional craft cannot go.
  17. Not sure if I can reproduce the pic here but DE600807 is a very strange beast (one of Pauls pics).
  18. https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/67690/mercedes-switch-for-russell-no-guarantee-of-competitive-edge/
  19. It appears that mine are on their way, posted on the 21st.
  20. When I last went to the exhibition at Bishops Stortford instead of going M25/M11 I went via A130/A1060. I saw a few familiar faces from this area and all had used the Motorways. They had all taken between ten minutes and half an hour longer than I did.
