  1. Here's one for those who want to 'detail' the new Oxford Transit. >> http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/
  2. Many years ago an Irish farmer by the name of McDonald had the registration EIE 10. This had to go when the Republic of Ireland changed its system.
  3. I meant the avian variety. There does not seem to be any raptors modelled in any scale.
  4. Many years ago an Essex farmer had a Land Rover with UPU 2, spaced out as UP U 2.
  5. I had a sparrowhawk using my patio as a dining table last year, the 'victim' was a pigeon that she had caught on the wing. The surprise was that both birds were about the same size. By the way does anyone produce models of such as the sparrowhawk in OO scale?
  6. The bus stop is a Master Models product and quite rare. In good condition worth £15-20.
  7. IIRC starlings were deliberately imported to the US. They have now become a pest however.
  8. How can the driver see out of the windows?
  9. The LNER had one, IIRC it lasted into the early 50's
  10. Quite so, the most consistent manufacturer scale wise IMHO was Yat Ming but the best models were/are by Real-X.
  11. Cararama made the Mercedes cab in both 1/72 and 1/87 scales. Their larger models came in packaging describing them as either 1/72 or 1/80 scale! The Scania was as Bernard said about 1/77 scale, the Mercedes was closer to 1/72 scale but the '1/87' scale version was nearer 1/80 scale.
  12. Herpa and other such models probably are suitable. Cararama did make an HO scale cement lorry but they are not easy to find now.
  13. The best idea would be to fit an HO scale body on a Base Toys chassis or similar. The modern 'cone' shaped mixers came into use in the mid 50's.
  14. To be fair it started out at 99p. The final bid was the bidders only bid about 6 hours before bidding closed!
  15. According to today's papers it is going to be crushed.
  16. A class 59 to all intents and purposes is an SD40. American railroads have an option of several different horns for their locomotives, perhaps there is one that fits the bill.
  17. 81 bids, many have been withdrawn. Some of the reasons for withdrawal are hilarious but cannot be repeated here.
  18. Watership Down, I've read the book, watched the film and tasted the stew.
  19. Possibly, I'm pretty sure it was on one of those two routes.
  20. IIRC the bus crews at one time refused to pick up Brookfield School pupils because of rowdyism. This was only settled when the school agreed to a teacher being present to control them.
  21. I remember at the time they were the post war version of the Bristol K with the lower radiator. My late father used to drive them from Brentwood garage in the mid 60's.
