  1. There were several very good (non-GWR) 4-6-0's about, the GER '1500' (B12) for example. There are many different factors in the design of a locomotive the principle of which id the type of work and the road on which it is expected to work.
  2. It's a Ford Thames not a Trader. The Trader was forward control and only introduced in the late 50's as a replacement for the Ford Thames.
  3. This is the Oxford display at the Nuremberg toy fair >> http://www.auto-und-modell.de/pages/aktuell/1173/Spielwarenmesse-2013-Oxford-Diecast/ I've noticed that the Scania horsebox has a different cab to the usual Oxford Scania trucks. It has the smaller/lower 'P' cab and the day cab version to boot. This cab is usually used by the smaller trucks in the Scania range such as tippers. It is usually also used in double cab form for fire engines. Apart from the height they can be distinguished from the 'R' cab by the door handles being closer to the top of the front wings.
  4. And plenty of woolies. He's hiding from Tescos.
  5. If thats anywhere near Doncaster they'll never get the layout up.
  6. Don't forget your passports/visas before you enter the Peoples Republic of Yorkshire.
  7. They are not axle-boxes but dust covers to prevent the ingress of dirt to the bearings. I am not sure about the others but they are correct for the NCB loco, coal dust would play havoc with the bearings.
  8. They look like paper labels so should be easy to remove.
  9. I found this on flickr >> http://www.flickr.com/photos/29080235@N08/7873434098/in/photostream There are several shots of this crane in action. This could be converted from the trailer in the Matchbox/Revell tank transporter kit.
  10. A lot of information on OS maps is or was supplied by local authorities. Some were better than others in supplying that information. Also a few years ago the OS found that another mapmaker was copying their maps illegally (without paying royalties) and they successfully prosecuted that company, which was Bartholemew.
  11. Some more new releases are shown on the Facebook site. Sorry I can't get the link to work (You have to be a Facebook member to see it anyway.)
  12. The model event on the 13/14th of April at the Acton Museum Depot seems to have disappeared from the museum website?
  13. There is also the Bachmann Scenecraft one catalogue no. 44-097.
  14. A class 47 was at one time hitched up to Tilbury power station to provide back up whilst the power station was being upgraded.
  15. I might have seen one from a continental manufacturer, but it looked like a smaller version of the OO one.
  16. About 6.00 put me in mind of the Wisbeach and Upwell.
  17. At swap meets I find that some dealers have some of the new releases and other dealers have other new releases. It seems very rare for a dealer to have all the new releases. It appears that distribution is very patchy. This might not be OD's fault it may be that they don't know exactly whats in the container until it is opened.
  18. Here's a short video of the Oxford display at the toy fair.
  19. The OO scale tanker (With a Scania unit) is out in Eddie Stobart livery. This is in the Atlas Editions ES series. Next due out from Atlas is the Reach Stacker. Atlas apparently are funding the tooling for a lot of the new Oxford commercials for their ES (and fire?) models.
  20. At the Brentwood swap meet a couple of weeks ago.
