  1. There is what appears to be wooden strapping to the right of the doors forming an 'X', perhaps it was internal? There is what looks like metal strapping on the left lower corner and metal stanchions on the ends both of very distinctive design, also they appear to be intended for a low sided open wagon.
  2. It started off at 99p as well.
  3. Wolseley before they made bicycles started out making sheep shearing machinery, in Australia.
  4. Actually it was a Dinky model I was thinking of, # 178 Plymouth Plaza (about 1958 model). Corgi made the station wagon variant, the 1959 Sports Suburban. Both Chrysler and Plymouth came from the Dodge stable and therefore were almost identical. PS. I counted 8 letters in the name badge above the grill so it must be a Plymouth.
  5. Ecclesiastical, sex with a member of the clergy?
  6. I think it could be a Plymouth? It's certainly late 50's early 60's. IIRC Corgi made a very similar contemporary 1/43 model that could even be the same car.
  7. Such thorny bushes are ideal for birds, they keep the cats away.
  8. I've done that with an Oxford as well, right outside Seven Kings station. How I managed to avoid hitting either the traffic island or a line of parked cars I do not know.
  9. All the latest news here about Oxford, click on middle top and the videos will follow on >> http://www.youtube.com/user/CollectorsClubofGB?feature=watch
  10. Looks like it, he has another almost identical loco at £64. His other items seem to be reasonably priced as well.
  11. For those who may be interested there are some photographs of ex-WD rolling stock recently posted on the Industrial Railway Society Yahoo group page. These include warflats, tank wagons and vans. At present they are owned by the Israeli Railways but due to be scrapped. Most of them are American built for the British War Office 1940-42. They can be purchased by individuals but all the descriptions are in Hebrew! There is also diagrams of some of the stock giving dimensions.
  12. There is what appears to be a wide paved area between the tracks, some sort of refuge perhaps?
  13. Only if he doesn't follow RMweb.
  14. So how much would the one that I have that is properly built and painted be worth?
  15. You want slugs? I have plenty to spare. They are nothing like the ones I saw in Barbados, up to 12" long and 2" diameter.
  16. Slightly off topic. it was reported on BBC Breakfast this morning that there is a shortage of ladybirds this year. This apparently is due to the warm dry spring last year followed by the lousy summer. I don't recall seeing any ladybirds yet, has anybody else?
  17. You can use Mr. Muscle drain cleaner as well. Did you try rinsing it under a running cold tap?
  18. Fantastic detail, I like the 16 ton mineral loaded with scrap(?) on the spur behind the locomotive.
  19. You should never use brake fluid for stripping paint. Either use proper paint stripper or less corrosive chemicals.
  20. On the subject of Mercedes 'stars', many would find some etched 4 mm scale Mk. 1 Cortina tail light bezels useful.
