  1. They might have to reinstate services first. I noticed some broken pipes before the concrete was sprayed, and some shoring up might be necessary for that to take place.
  2. Rant Mode! Its my usual habit when I come down about 8 in the morning to switch the box on to get the weather news. This morning when I switched on the Breakfast Show had been replaced by the timing sessions for tomorrows Formula 1 GP! So no weather news. I'm sure there are more people interested in what the weather is going to be like than what colour racing car will be at the front of the grid.
  3. Mine all operate by the radio signal from Rugby so I don't have any problems like that. The only problem is waiting for them to reset after installing a new battery.
  4. Could they be the remains of wartime anti invasion measures?
  5. Looks like the 70's are scared of getting their feet wet.
  6. The only timepiece I have to adjust now is my watch. All clocks in the house are self adjusting but I've yet to see them perform the change.
  7. Like LTM did with the 150 anniversary class 20's.
  8. I think LTM as the owner of the locomotive will receive licence fees. TfL might still hold the rights to the 'London Transport' and 'Metropolitan' titles. I've no doubt that they will be available from the LTM shop so I imagine they would have got the licencing sorted.
  9. Our Boxer (long departed alas) used to fall for that one every time. Then sat there with a woebegone look when she realised she'd been duped. Mind you she was back on the chair as soon as you left it.
  10. A 'buzzy, whirly, sky camera thingy' would be nice as a smiley too.
  11. Being retired that makes me really glad that I am.
  12. Is that the stuff which is supposed to pass through the human body completely unaltered?
  13. I ordered the MR 128 from Kernow on Sunday and it arrived yesterday morning.
  14. There is a picture here of the engine and radiator. http://www.greatwestern.org.uk/aec1.htm
  15. FWD locomotives were sold under the Name of Hardy Rail Motors. After the company was absorbed by AEC they went on to produce the GWR diesel passenger railcars.
  16. Pity they can't run a 'special' to Dawlish on the 4th of April for all the enthusiasts.
  17. I'll have to think of an excuse to have one on my layout. While I'm about it how about a model of one of the 1932 BTH Bo-Bo diesels that used to work in Fords Dagenham factory? please pretty please?
  18. I thought it was delivering a fresh supply of pasties for Captain Kernow.
  19. A few bits about the interior. There is no staircase, the 'tube' section has no seats, it is a reproduction of the standing area between the doors, this leads via about 2 or 3 steps to the 'mainline' section which has 4 pairs of seats, 2 on either side facing each other with a replica of the access door to the drivers cab.
  20. Isn't the date of the auction a bit suspicious?
  21. Great model of an unusual prototype. Incidently it is still legal for use on the road and attends several functions each year.
  22. Is the terrace in the background suffering from subsidence or is it just a trick of the camera lens?
  23. The nearest in appearance would be the contemporary Karrier. http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Karrier_Motors
