  1. Most of the vehicles in there were quite new. The oldest vehicle I spotted was a Vauxhall Wyvern or Cresta about 12-14 years old. One other vehicle was the French registered 2CV on the embankment, the only foreign registered vehicle I could see. There was also two Ford Falcons, an estate and a sedan near the beginning of the film outside a building flying the Canadian flag, diplomatic cars perhaps?
  2. Not forgetting the period advertising hoardings. This looks like one of those 'outtakes' compilations.
  3. Happy birthday Ashers, don't worry about the numbers, your as old as you feel (and I'm nearly 66).
  4. They arrived this morning, a slight disappointment as one, the Scania 8 wheel crane lorry has white showing through the blue tampo printing. I was debating whether or not to replace the cab with a plain white one so it looks like that will be done now.
  5. I've yet to see any of these locos with a rake of Hatchett Mk. 1's.
  6. Like Tony I'm expecting a delivery, from the Stobart shop. A couple of Oxford's finest that are not on general release yet.
  7. I also remember the photo you talked about but I can't remember where I saw it. IIRC London Transport were involved in the preparations for D Day and it was part of that.
  8. The hay fever made me spend a good part of the day indoors, so nothing got done in the garden.
  9. Local ASDA's has sold out already.
  10. Up early this morning despite going to bed at 2 am. Just had a nice long soak in the tub before breakfast.
  11. The Riley 1500 would make an interesting project.
  12. Early on ER this morning, woke up at 5! so decided to get up. Now to decide what to do for the rest of the day.
  13. I notice that the transparent packaging is the same as well, well the A4 and the Deltic are.
  14. It could have been worse, you might have ended up having to clean the car.
  15. I examined my copy of the Deltic a bit more thoroughly having removed it from the packaging. As I mentioned above my example was quite well finished apart from the pale green stripe being too yellow. On the other side the 'pale green' stripe fades from the yellow to more or less the correct shade. On closer examination this depends upon the thickness of the paint, the green of the main body showing through the 'yellow' paint.
  16. I have a similar photo of myself (Without the perm) standing near IIRC a Ffestiniog locomotive wreathed in steam (both myself and the loco) the flared jeans were also a bright red colour.
  17. You show us yours and we'll show you ours.
  18. And it will keep the local fox population happy.
  19. Marmalade toast this morning, just had the bacon butty this evening for supper, yummy.
  20. A former colleague of mine was pestered by a debt collecting firm chasing after the former occupant of her flat. Her husband got rid of them by telling them that the person they wanted was in prison for assault with a deadly weapon.
  21. I have obtained a Deltic from my local Asda's. I must be lucky as there is no overspray of the white paint around the windows and the totems and numbers line up. However the light green band is more yellow than it should be and a very small amount of paint has crept under the masking. Certainly worth £8.99.
  22. Ready for the morning, New pot of marmalade in the cupboard and a pack of dry cured smokey bacon in the fridge, have plenty of thick sliced bread and baps so now the only problem is what to have for breakfast.
  23. 2509 days since I retired.
