  1. I signed up for Facebook to keep up with RMweb when the sight was down. I have found a few groups that are to my liking and just follow those and ignore all the rubbish.
  2. A list of new releases, sorry no pics >> http://www.facebook.com/groups/282491821467/permalink/10152204587956468/
  3. Funny ad >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4c2yGzukftM
  4. Look for Rennick Road, Barking. The sidings are either side of Rennick Road just south of Ripple Road. Ripple Lane itself used to be just to the east of Rennick Road but its not on my current A-Z which just shows an industrial site where it used to be. Considerable alterations took place in the area when the CTRL2 was built perhaps that was when it ceased to exist.
  5. In 1948 a parking space per four houses would have been generous. I live in Basildon and some of the houses near me were built with bike sheds!
  6. As far as I am aware its still there. When did Fords stop making cars at Dagenham?
  7. There is a Transit Connect due out later this year.
  8. Too late for me I'm 65, what were we talking about?
  9. There used to be a 'Fruit D' and a pair of milk tanks near Finsbury Park station disappearing into the undergrowth about 20 years ago, are they still there?
  10. Many underground Metro stations have platform doors. IIRC its to do with temperature control and ventilation.
  11. I thought it was Maggie Thatchers grandmother.
  12. A Traffic Wardens funeral as the coffin was being lowered into the ground a banging and yelling came from it "I'm not dead I just passed out.". The vicar leaned over and said "Sorry but the paperworks already been filled in."
  13. I liked Barbados when I holidayed there in '78. Most of the holidaymakers there were Canadians, nothing against them but their favourite subject was how deep the snow was back home (October/November).
  14. Overslept this morning, didn't wake up until almost 9 o'clock (usually before 7). I put it down to not having any pain from the arthritis which in turn is down to the dry spell.
  15. Went to the swap meet at Brentwood this morning, held as usual in the sports centre. I couldn't help noticing that the cafeteria was advertising a full English breakfast and that there was several sporting types outside the door puffing away on cigarettes. Managed to cop a bargain though, Atlas/Stobart MAN L2000 lorry (by Oxford) usually £20 + for £10.
  16. My keyboard 'died' this evening, luckily the local PC World is open until 8 pm so I popped down to get a new one. Before fitting the new keyboard I switched on to catch up with RMweb only to find that the keyboard was working again! I'm still going to fit the new keyboard as the old one is now over 10 years old and might go wrong again.
  17. Skoda's are popular nowadays with the BTP. Take a look at the Abrex 1:72 scale models, transfers are available for BTP markings.
  18. So thats how they got their name.
  19. Jet fuel now has an additive that suppresses any tendency to explode. Airliners burn such modified fuel with no adverse effects.
  20. If you want to kiss the Scot's Lowlands go right ahead.
