  1. Now I know what they mean by dancing cheek to cheek.
  2. Its a bit late now I know, but the A14 takes you to J19 of the M1. An added bonus is that it follows the course IIRC of the old Kettering to Huntington line, the station at Thrapston is still intact, or was last time I used that route and is visible from the road.
  3. Traffic news this morning M25 a car park in both directions from the A10 to the A12. Would suggest A130/A414/M11/A14/M1.
  4. A friend of mine tried to microwave an egg, it cost him a new microwave.
  5. How does the contraceptive chip work? In my minds eye I have an impression of a huge boot coming out of nowhere and coming into contact with aforesaid nadjers.
  6. More likely CK and the orange army are down the pub celebrating.
  7. Its just gone to collect more pasties for CK and his orange army.
  8. There is a few about http://www.ontrackplant.com
  9. An attempt to reduce the cost of railtours.
  10. Perhaps he'd heard that CK was in the area.
  11. Working ok on my computer. EDIT Beast 66606 beat me to it.
  12. Don't worry, I was told once that I was not management material, much to my relief.
  13. Its the England cricket team, beaten by the Dutch!
  14. Indeed it was a tram depot. It passed to London Transport in 1933, with the trams which were replaced by trolleybuses circa 1938. The trolleybuses were replaced in 1959 when the depot reverted to Ilford Borough Council (now L.B. of Redbridge.)
  15. The whole cab front hinges sideways and the top of the engine is accessible from inside via the cab bulkhead. Its a bit late to mention it now but the cab is actually reduced size so that the vehicle could legally be driven on the road.
  16. The last was common practice were I used to work.
  17. So now you will not be able to take a pee without being bombarded with adverts. I'll just have to practice aiming higher.
  18. Still just as ugly. I recall that by fitting the 2.5 litre V6 you got a better fuel consumption than from the original 2 litre V4.
  19. For goods traffic there is a Metropolitan Goods brake here >> http://www.smallbrookstudio.com/page3.php page down, its the third brake van.
  20. Thanks for that clarification Coombe Barton. Its well known fact that road traffic accidents increase dramatically when the clocks go back in Autumn. Its been estimated that this results in up to 50 deaths each year, time to go permanently to GMT+1 methinks. (Pun intended.)
  21. I don't see why we have to go through this rigmarole of changing the clocks twice a year. Why don't we stay on summer time all year? I know about the kiddies having to walk to school in the dark in Scotland but the answers simple, open the schools an hour later in the winter. This was put in place nearly a century ago to help increase the production of munitions for the Western Front, it was abolished for a few years in the 70's but was re-introduced at the insistence of the Scottish Nationalists as one of the conditions for support of a minority Labour government (the children walking to school in the dark was the main reason stated.) Incidently under the old system the winter time was GMT+1 (what is now summer time) and summer time was GMT+2.
  22. They have to be set up properly and reset after a battery change. On a couple of occasions the one in my kitchen has gone haywire, apparently due to a stray signal. On one particular occasion it set itself forward by about 3 hours, I reset it only for it to 'reset' itself and go back 3 hours.
