  1. Do they still provide instructions in their own peculiar version of English, which I call 'Japlish'.
  2. I gave up setting the date a long time ago. I kept forgetting to adjust it every February, April, June, September and November so I just gave up in the end. Its showing the 27th at the moment so I think it will be showing the correct date this coming October/November.
  3. I'm quite sure that several have been converted to EM or P4 so someone must have a spare set of wheels they don't want.
  4. My watch is almost 15 years old and I've never had to put a new battery in it as it doesn't require one. Its a self charging 'Citizen' watch where the watch face is a photo electric cell. The only thing I have had to replace is the strap.
  5. Reliant Kittens did not have a weight limit, manufacture had ceased by the time that legislation had been introduced. The legislation was introduced to cover quad bikes and was not retrospective. Until recently I owned a Reliant Kitten and I don't know of any fitted with perspex windows from new.
  6. Post 152 on this thread.
  7. Back from MRI scan (AAA), all clear so some years to the next one. Cheese on toast with onion for lunch to celebrate. EDIT All this talk of cake, Danish pastry to follow.
  8. So thats were it was stored.
  9. He arrived about an hour later, actually a day late because of the bank holiday rain.
  10. Paid it using a credit card, if you pay tax don't forget the gift aid. (Though I think that is automatic.)
  11. The account I wanted to use is not connected to Paypal. But I can pay by Paypal using a credit card
  12. I tried to make a donation but the buttons to select the card type and the expiry date of the card do not seem to be working.
  13. I hope he didn't have any sticky plaster on anything hairy and sensitive.
  14. Strangely my Ultrasound appointment will be at the same medical centre that houses my GP. I was under the impression that it would take place at the local hospital.
  15. Only 3 wheels and weighing under 8 cwt.
  16. I purchased a copy of 'Railway' magazine this morning, The surname of the young lady in question is Johnson! so with such a common surname it will be very difficult to trace without a lot more primary information, names of parents/siblings address etc. However there are some pointers that can be used. She is almost certainly middle class as most girls of her age were working and would simply not have the time. Its possible that her father or other near relative worked for the GWR. It is also likely that she lived close to Paddington station as a respectable Victorian middle class daughter would not be allowed to roam very far.
  17. I've received my appointment for the ultrasound scan of my waterworks. A bit worrying is that I am asked to attend with a full bladder. Seeing as seeing a running tap nowadays brings on an irresistible urge I hope that they see me on time. EDIT I've just read the report by Tim on Don's problems, makes mine insignificant by comparison. Get well soon Don.
  18. When my window cleaner arrives its a sure sign of rain.
  19. I could investigate it but it won't be easy without more biographical details and other such details as where she lived. As the trainspotting was written up in her journal there might be such information there. A few years ago out of curiosity I looked up the manager of the Brill Tramway, a gentleman named Ralph Evans and found quite a bit of information but was unable to research any descendants as he only had one daughter and the name Evans is quite common.
  20. I will be checking out the mag as well today. As family history is also one of my interests I wonder if anyone has investigated the young lady in question as to if she has any living descendants.
  21. Thats what it appears to be.
