  1. I just checked mine its on its way as well.
  2. Thanks for the link, I was only able to listen to about the first 3 seconds.
  3. Not Railway related but 52 years ago I took up my first job on leaving school. This was with Kealy & Tonge ltd. at their head office in Mitre Square in the City of London. This was in an old mid Victorian building taking up one side of the square. The building had many of its Victorian features including high desks with stools around the walls together with partitioned off desk spaces in the centre of a large office which took up much of the ground floor. In the cupboards under the high desks were ledgers and account books dating from the 1880's and 90's. Needless to say that building is no longer and even its replacement is being demolished to be replaced by a larger structure that the square itself will disappear beneath.
  4. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Hazy sunshine this morning but very muggy, at least the hay fever has abated for now but the pollen count is high. I realy must get out and do something with the garden today, the weeds are taking over. Bye for now, be back later.
  5. Been a busy day but absolutely nothing seems to have got done, goodnight all.
  6. Morning all from Estuary-Land and happy birthday Smiffy. A bit cloudy and dismal here at the moment but at least its not raining. I vaguely remember Crossroads but I haven't watched a soap for years (and I have no wish to).

RIP Jock. My eyes are watering, must be that hay fever again.
  8. Morning all from a rather damp Estuary-Land. Happy birthday Don and many more of them. For some reason I woke up this morning thinking it was Monday, it took about an hour before I realised I was wrong. Only venturing out to get the papers this morning the weathers so bad but at least I'm free of the hay fever for now.
  9. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Temperature is up but a bit muggy this morning so the air conditioning in the car is going to get well used. So long for now, be back later. EDIT for those interested there is a program about Quintishill tonight 9 PM BBC4.
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit late this morning as I kept getting the 502 Bad Gateway message but it seems to have sorted itself out. Gardening is on hold at the moment due to hay fever so I think I'll defrost the freezer instead, I wonder what I will find for dinner tonight?
  11. If its tunnels your talking about those naked gardeners had better not bend over.
  12. Watch out for the nettles and thistles as well.
  13. Wait until it reaches £50.
  14. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Very sad news about Is from Dave, its at times like this that its very hard to put into words what one feels. Jock could allways seem to find the right words, he is sorely missed already.
  15. He must have been travelling at some speed for the securing catches of the tilt-cab to fail. Nothing much at all.
  16. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Received my gas/electric bill this morning, estimated readings, the gas was almost on the button but the electric reading was way over what it should be. When I telephoned them it turned out that I had incorrectly given a reading in January. The meter is one of those old fashioned ones with the tiny dials that move in alternate directions and are so easy to mis-read. Now I'm having to wait for the meter to be read later this month. I did ask about a smart meter(s) but my supplier has only just started introducing them and it will be a few years yet.
  17. And a Scottish thistle in the centre (a separate casting perhaps bolted or rivetted on?).
