  1. At least they acknowledge the existance of this part of the country. BBC London treats us as one of those fairy tale countries that only appears when there is a full moon. Has anyone got a film of the layout? I was unable to post it from Facebook and anyway those not on Facebook would not have be able to see it.
  2. Many of you will remember this >> Well someones made a model of it complete with moving market stalls. Its on my Facebook page (the model that is).
  3. You forgot to send the snow.
  4. Morning all from Estuary-Land. My charcoal grey car was white this morning when I looked out, at least I'm not going out until lunchtime. When I had my recent accident there was a bit of a wait for the ambulance as my injuries were only minor. The biggest cause of delay is waiting to be handed over to A&E, in my case about 20 minutes. Even then the ambulance has to be cleaned and prepared before it goes out to the next patient. The only answer is a properly funded health service not lip service from the politicians.
  5. I was a little concerned about it being affected by damp but apparently OSB3 is for use where there is a possibility of damp conditions.
  6. I hope this one gets caught. >> http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-38148813
  7. Evening all from Estuary-Land. This was on another forum http://www.saynoto0870.com It lists alternative cheaper or free numbers for the same company so you don't have to pay through the nose often to query their mistake.
  8. The other day I was just leaving the Pitsea Tescoes where the main entrance opens directly on to a pedestrian crossing when the trolley I was pushing was nearly hit by a Chelsea tractor. The woman driver was concentrating on texting rather than her driving, this in the 'mother and child' parking zone.
  9. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit chilly this morning but dry with wall to wall sunshine. I started getting chest pains yesterday so I dialed 111, it turns out that I cracked a couple of ribs in my fall. At the time they checked everything including blood glucose and all was fine. It could have read Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwlllantysiliogogogoch.
  10. Evening all from Estuary-Land. When I checked the car this morning there was no sign of any more gearbox oil leaks. I had phoned the workshop and they said bring it in for a check which I did. Wherever it had come from it wasn't the gearbox and it wasn't thick enough to be engine oil so it was surmised that it was residue from where the gearbox was removed to fit the new clutch. I just have to keep an eye on it for the next few days but it seems that everything is OK. On the subject of wills I should do something about updating mine. I possess certain family heirlooms that I'm not sure that other members of my family are aware off or of their antiquity or rarity so I will have to make a list, well three lists actually, one to go with my will and a copy each for my brother and sister. Getting late now so goodnight all.
  11. Morning all from Estuary-Land. According to the forecast the weather is going to stay dry and cold all this week but clouding over towards the end of the week. But watch out especially tomorrow morning as the temperatures are going to drop, -5C in London! Thats it for now, be back later.
  12. There is also a company supplying such facilities called Cox Cabins.
  13. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Collected the car yesterday after having the new clutch fitted. This morning I noticed a small pool of oil underneath the gearbox. When I returned from collecting my parcel I placed a flattened cardboard carton underneath it and when I checked it it was still oozing oil so its back to the workshop in the morning if more oil leaks out.
  14. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit overcast this morning but should stay dry. Nice to hear from Andy, if it was me I would have put that application in and informed those responsible for your current woes that you have done so and see what their reaction would be. Tony, whatever makes you think that Basildon is a good place to shop? It was at one time but not now, half the shops are closed and shuttered and it costs an arm and a leg to park. I much prefer Gravesend only a quick hop on the ferry away and only £2 return with a wrinkly pass. Off now to pick up a parcel, be back later.
  15. Thats already been suggested.
  16. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Still a bit sore from yesterday but feeling better. Of to pick the car upshortly, be back later.
  17. The uneven patch is barely noticeable (why I tripped over it). Its on a joint where a patch has been inserted, a plant seed had found its way into the gap and sprouted forcing a slight bulge in the tarmac. There were no witnesses, the young lady who helped me arrived a couple of minutes after my fall and I don't even have her name.
  18. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I set out at lunchtime to collect the car but on the way to the bus stop I stumbled on an uneven pavement and fell flat on my face. Skinned knuckles, a split lip and a broken tooth was the result. A young lady passer by dialed for an ambulance and they whipped me off to the local hospital where I spent the best part of the afternoon waiting to be patched up. By the time I'd left hospital it was too late to collect the car so I will have to do so tomorrow.
