  1. You seem to have cornered the market, they've sold out.
  2. Indeed, the ones I have are by Gul. By far the best ones to wear when its icy.
  3. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Still a bit grey this morning but showing signs of brightening up. I have a pair of seamens boots which I've worn very little in the last 30 years or so. I purchased them from a boat chandelers when I lived in Burnham-on Crouch. The big difference I found was that they were far better in icy conditions than normal wellies, and with the thick woolen socks warm and comfortable. Also although they were costly they didn't cost 400% of the normal wellie price. Bye for now, be back later.
  4. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. A bit late today as when I switched on this morning there was no internet, phoned Virgin Media who confirmed the whole district was out. Made a start on getting my stuff ready for the Bexley exhibition on Sunday instead. Sorry to hear your news Alan and I hope your BiL doesn't suffer too much.
  5. A box of Huntley & Palmers biscuits for Christmas?
  6. Morning awl from Estuary-Land. Tony, sorry to hear of Aditi's feeling unwell. I had the same after my recent fall, after my injuries had been dealt with I felt OK but by the following day the aches and pains started, old and forgotten injuries suddenly started hurting for no apparent reason but luckily it only lasted a couple of days. Andy, I hope things go well for you and you get the job, best of luck etc. Best wishes to any other ailing ER's, be back later.
  7. Good evening from Estuary-Land. Here's the Swedish cider I mentioned yesterday http://www.rekorderlig.com/uk/flavourd/winter-cider It can be drunk either chilled or mulled and they even have recipes for the different flavours. The one for the winter cider involves mixing it with rum, HIC!
  8. This is going to be my Christmas tipple http://www.rekorderlig.com/uk/flavours/winter-cider
  9. At least their licences would have expired by the time they came out. Personally I think drivers who cause deaths should be banned for life.
  10. An ideal partner for the Wickham perhaps. The latest model in the Atlas 'World of Stobart' series is a ballast undercutter. The prototype dates from around 1980 so could possibly be seen with a Wickham. It might prove possible to motorise it too but this depends on several factors.
  11. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Thanks for the tip about the granite cubes Jamie, and I always understood that scotch should be poured over the ice cubes (or granite in this case). I was looking at the possible modelling uses of said cubes, I have a few ideas such as part of a 'decorative planting' scheme. Didn't sleep too well last night due to the sciatica, but a soak in the bath and a couple of co-codomols seam to have eased it quite a bit but since my fall the other day all the old and forgotten aches and pains seem to have returned at once but fortunately most have now abated. Thats it for now folks, be back later.
  12. Evening all from Estuary-Land. In view of certain celebrations later this month some of todays purchases were of the alcoholic variety. These included some miniatures of single malt and included was four dice sized cubes of granite to be placed in the whisky glass instead of ice. Although they feel cool to the touch does anyone know if they have to be cooled before use? Another purchase was a bottle of Swedish Rekorderlig cider complete with a ceramic mug to drink it from and a slice of dried orange to add to it.
  13. I would like to hear what she would say if anyone followed her advice and was killed or injured.
  14. I encountered the ultimate idiot driver today. Driving a van while talking on a mobile phone in his left hand and using his right hand to sort out paperwork on his dashboard!
  15. This has just been announced as the next model.
  16. The next model has just been announced, a ballast undercutter.
  17. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bright and sunny morning and it looks as if its going to stay that way for the weekend. Just as well as I need to prepare my stuff for the Bexley exhibition next Sunday. I will have a static display so if anyone is visiting the show pop over and say hello. Bye for now, be back later.
  18. The saying "From Hell, Hull and Halifax good lord deliver us." comes from the fact that instead of hanging felons both towns used a guillotine.
  19. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit dull and cloudy this morning but should remain dry. A strange weather phenomenon this morning shown on the breakfast show, a fog filled valley with the fog formimg a large dome. It was explained that the cause was a heat source but it was very strange and almost alien looking. Not much else to report, be back later.
