  1. The same bikes were used with both models.
  2. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Checked Facebook this morning and was delighted to see a post from Debs. It was marking the first anniversary of her marriage to John who sadly is no longer with us to celebrate. Got to go now, I've something in my eye.
  3. I always check the offcuts box at B&Q (other DIY emporiums are available). They are very useful for dioramas and never more than 50p apiece.
  4. The Victor 101 is also quite rare. I found one at a toy fair once with some of the more common models and the Triang car carrier for the princely sum of £10. I replaced it with one of the more common models and sold the car carrier on for £12.
  5. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I agree with Peter(BB) about the arsonists, and if they are caught in the act give them a beater and put them under the charge of a senior army NCO until the fires are out. I have made a complaint to the BBC about the (lack of) the news last night, apparently I was not the first to complain by a long way and I doubt very much that I will be the last. I caught a bit of the news this morning, the bit that was between the football and Wimbledon, the weather forecast for this part of the world is this week will be the same as last week. Thats it for now, be back later.
  6. Matchbox produced a trailer holding a couple of trials bikes. Not sure of the scale but larger than 1/76.
  7. It includes delivery by action man.
  8. Apologies pH, I was complaining about the lack of any news program. The news and weather is about all I switch the box on for now as the rest is usually carp. The main point I was making was that the BBC chose to fill the time (half an hour) between the two matches with a repeat of a quiz show when they could have easily put the evening news/weather on, it was the usual time slot anyway for the news. The last news was at one this afternoon, the next is at two tomorrow morning.
  9. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I tuned in for the evening news and weather earlier to find that it was delayed by the penalty shoot-out. I switched on again as Russia scored the winning penalty, and it was also mentioned that the program would finish at 6 so I held on until then only to find that to fill in they had dug out an old edition of Question of Sport! Obviously they are not going to delay by one second the next edition of 22 overpaid prima donnas kicking a bladder of air around. TMI!
  10. Morning all from Estuary-Land. As I said yesterday flying ants are a sign of coming rain, another name for them is storm flies. No sign of them yet here on the dry side but Wimbledon is just starting. Yesterday I went to the Toyfair at Brentwood and picked up a couple of diecasts, one is a 1/43 Mini Wildegoose camper. Its from a French partwork series but I'm only going for the British prototypes. One that might interest Horsetan is one based on a Citroen CX estate with an extra axle to support the caravan portion.
  11. I've won them but note to self. >> Check the postage before you bid! 13 Euros, almost twice what I paid for them. About £18 in all.
  12. Flying ants are a sign that wet weather is due.
  13. Your alta ego isn't Sgt. Bilko by any chance?
  14. Depends on who is under the patio.
  15. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Just a quick hello/goodbye as I'm off out to use a few more modelling tokens, be back later.
  16. IIRC a preserved Dennis Loline has been adapted to take wheelchairs.
  17. The extra length is behind the back axle. It should be a simple task to remove a few millimetres.
  18. I've just spotted a brace of these on E-bay with a 7.50 Euro start price and only 14 hours to go. So far I'm the only bidder so fingers crossed.
  19. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Speaking to one of my neighbours, who lives next door to the empty house with the foxes in residence in the garden. He was unaware that the foxes had taken up residence and was about to report the 'smelly drains' to the water company, I soon put him right about the cause of the smell. He'd been away for a few days so the foxes had been undisturbed for about a week. They are unlikely to be around for more than a few days as the cubs are nearly fully grown.
  20. Actually it was numbered RMF1254 and was registered 254 CLT and used by London Transport to test out the front entrance double decker concept. For various reasons LT didn't continue with the experiment. The only successful application was in transfers from the West London Air Terminal to Heathrow that led to the RMA class. After the testing was concluded it was modified to Northern General specification which meant not only the destination boxes but re-seating and exchanging the AEC engine for a Leyland unit. It was also re-registered by Northern which meant that although it was the oldest member of the fleet it carried the newest registration.
  21. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I didn't wake up this morning until gone 8, unusual for me as I'm usually awake by 6. A few weeks ago I mentioned a leg swollen up like a balloon, this morning there was no sign of any swelling and the knee that has been very sore for the past few days is no longer so. Congratulations Ian on your last day, truly commuting into London must be horrendous, it was bad enough when I retired ten years ago when things were a lot better. I received my new photo licence a couple of weeks ago and this week they returned my documents. With them was an organ donor card as I had ticked the box but when I go I doubt that there will be much left that isn't worn out or knackered. Thats it for now, be back later.
  22. Evening all from Estuary-Land. My old maps generated a fair amount of interest tonight as I thought they might. I arrived home just before 11 and when I switched off the car I espied a couple of fox cubs play fighting so I waited for a few minutes watching them. Its now time for bed so goodnight all.
