  1. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Just returned from the club where there is still no water supply. Our landlords will be notified first thing in the morning, there is no sign of any leak but the clubhouse is a wooden building on a concrete base that has been there for 60+ years.
  2. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I still can't remember the name of the plant that has appeared in Light Engines garden. If anyone can name it please let me know.
  3. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Bright and sunny here this morning and the forecasters are predicting it will stay that way at least until the weekend. Tony, I hope your not feeling too sore this morning. Club meeting tonight, hopefully the water will be back on. Last week the water was turned off and one of the members who lives nearby went home and returned with a container of water so that we could have some tea. The clubhouse is an old cricket pavilion and our water supply is shared with the ground. Thats it for now, muggatee awaits, be back later.
  4. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I have them in my garden but I can't remember the name of them. The flowers are like a hydrangea in size and shape but a pale yellow/green colour. Be warned though they spread like wildfire, hence their appearance in your garden. I would remove all except the healthiest looking example but remember to dead head them as soon as they have flowered.
  5. Whatever you do that asbestos roof will be a problem. As Chris said, flatten it and build something more suitable in its place.
  6. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Andrew, have you also tried Trading Standards? He's likely as not to be on their radar and they will notify the VAT office and Inland Revenue as a matter of course. This months copy of Railway Bylines has just dropped through the letterbox so its time to read it over a muggatee, bye for now, be back later.
  7. Oops, I missed Johns birthday, so belated happy birthday John.
  8. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Great to hear from Debs, I notice that she's been posting on Facebook as well. Happy birthday Ian and many more of them. Thats about all for now, teas brewing, be back later.
  9. Its at the Brentwood Centre off the Ongar Road. It opens at 10 am. The trader is Alan Jones but AFAIK he doesn't have a regular spot. I will be there, look out for Father Christmas pushing a red stroller.
  10. Looks like something you'd expect to be served up in the bar in Star Wars.
  11. I visited a toy fair yesterday and one of the traders had a couple of Pecketts on sale at £85 each, including a Huntly & Palmer example. The same trader usually attends the Brentwood toy fair the next one of which is this coming Saturday.
  12. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Saturday night my internet started getting slower and slower, hence my not getting to bed until 2 AM. Sunday morning it was up to speed again but again it started slowing down in the evening until just before ten it went down altogether so I switched off my computer and went to do something else. When I checked half an hour later the internet was up and running and at normal speeds. I was not to bothered by this but I realised that as the TV works from the same hub that would have gone down as well, during the finale of 'Bodyguard'. I should imagine that the telephones at Virgin Media will be red hot this morning. Not a lot else to report, muggatee awaits, be back later.
  13. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Not a bad result at the toy-fair, came away with a couple of items from the 'World of Stobart' series at £7 each and a Master Models bus stop for £8, usually I would expect to pay a bit more. The rain has stopped and the sun was shining a short while ago but its still blowing a bit. Kettle has now boiled so its be back later.
  14. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Persisting down this morning, I feel sorry for my mate and his young lad, they're bookied to go to a flying show at Duxford today. The forecast is that the rain will clear by lunchtime there but the wind will be gusting up to 40mph, I don't think they will see much flying. I'm off out now to the toy fair at Rayleigh, be back later.
  15. Another bit of my youth gone.
  16. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Just cleaned up my e-mail inbox, but still got a lot more to trash. Also got an e-mail this morning (in my spam folder) informing me that I had won $850,000 dollars on a lottery but I decided to let some other lucky person have it and just to make sure I blocked the sender.
