  1. Evening all from Estuary-Land. The rain came back with a vengeance after lunch but by sunset had gone but now its turned cold with the temp as low as zero according to the seaweed twirlers. I see GDB is not going to give up his crown without a fight. Thats it for now, time to put the kettle on, be back later.
  2. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Chatting in the clubroom last night someone mentioned that an old friend of mine was on Facebook. A few here might know him, Brian (Wheels) Stubbles. I have duly sent him a friend request but I haven't opened my Facebook this morning. I gather that he has been quite ill recently but is now recovering. Its now stopped raining, hopefully thats it as far as the rain goes. Thats it for now, be back later.
  3. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I require a stick when walking, it does seem to have an affinity for the shins and ankles of the hipster generation.
  4. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Happy birthday to Dom, I too had a notification from Farcebook of Dom's birthday but when I clicked on the link, zilch! I see GDB has got some competition Andy, seriously though it could have been a lot worse, look after yourself mate. Thats it for now, be back later.
  5. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Yes, pink, their previous colours were blue and white in swirls, almost identical to the packaging of a well known pile ointment.
  6. There is a family story that one of my distant relatives sailed on the Mayflower but later returned to England after the deaths of her father and brother who sailed with her. The surname was Turner and they hailed from Brentwood. I also understand that they were servants to some of the 'religious' settlers.
  7. Over the weekend I obtained three military 00 scale models. Two, A Sultan ACV and a FV432 APC are from a company called 'Combat Ready' and are one piece solid resin castings including tracks, at £5 each will make good loads for Warwells. The other is a diecast Saxon APC from Tiny of Hong Kong. This is finished in UN white livery with all markings, an excellent model if a bit pricy at £21.
  8. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Happy anniversary to Sheila and Brian. Not all that cold here this morning, well nothing frozen but dampness evident of rain last night. The next door neighbours were doing the final clear out, the amount of perfectly usable stuff they threw out is amazing. I retrieved a Workmate from their skip (with permission) together with a few other small tools such as spanners. Muggatee awaits so its be back later.
  9. Don't crocodiles eat not so fast food?
  10. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Happy birthday Michael and many more of them. I'm not aware of any ER's who share my birthday but I do share it with Ringo Starr and Bill Oddie. The shed remained untouched today, its just too cold to do anything in there. I noticed yesterday that the first leaves had fallen from the trees, winter is on its way.
  11. Who has to pick up the feathers? Hat on, coat on and gone.
  12. I very recently received a parcel from Hong Kong containing a small diecast model. The outer packaging was a cardboard box containing the model in its box with newspaper packed around it. However the box containing the model was itself contained within a heat sealed plastic wrap that is not currently recyclable, upon opening the box I found the model wrapped in a plastic bag inside the vacformed clear plastic inner. Neither the outer cover or the plastic bag were neccessary though the plastic bag will be retained.
  13. He has been naughty on another thread and teacher has put him in detention for a while.
  14. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Congratulations to Jamie and Sherry and Ian. I was going to do a bit more in the shed this morning but at the moment its like an ice box in there. Being of single leaf brick construction and attached to the NW corner of the house its no surprise really.
  15. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Parcel collected from sorting office and unpacked, everything in order as one would expect from Hong Kong. Only down was a long queue at the sorting office, only one postie on duty instead of two so it took 20 minutes to get to the front of the queue.
  16. And anything else dangling in the vicinity.
  17. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Glad to see Sherry and Ian back, I think we all want to hear more of the goings on in Le Sarthe, beats the soaps hands down. Glad to see Rick back again also, I seem to have missed the reasons for the departures though I did report a blatantly political post that promptly disappeared. While I was out yesterday a signed for parcel arrived so I will have to nip down to the sorting office to collect it. Thats it for now, be back later.
  18. Good to see Rick back, goodnight all.
