Nice work Marcus.
Subtle and not over powering.
One suggestion if you don't mind? It may be worth dry brushing some gun metal on the tank wagon spillage from the filler to add a sheen. Some folk use Humbrol Metalcoat were its buffed up once dry.
This effect can also be used on areas such springs/oil axle filled axle boxes too. Also it be used on weathered plain wood.
Be nice to see them in a consist with a 2MT or a J15 in charge.

Mark

Lovely work once more Mikkel
I've been following this on your workbench thread and it does look brilliant. Out of interest how is it held together?
Looking forwards to seeing this build finished and appearing in one of your excellent photo montage's.

What I'd give for a Western National in my models time period.Happy memories Mark.
Agree Robin. We could certainly do with a relevant 1930's/1940's post war bus in Western National colours.
Yes...You've guessed it reliving my student years.

Nice Beaver
Thanks. I had it stuffed recently!
It's been nice to resurrect this bus and a quick little project to boot.
The Scalescenes kits are good. Especially the brick effects which I will certainly use in the future.

Forgot to say. There's something missing from your drawings....
A mid afternoon G&T....

Hi Pete,
Great to see a post on Kyle.
Sounds like the 'pruning' will be an effective space saver.
I do like the expo flyer as well and it has the trademark illustrations
.
Looking forwards to seeing work on the 24/1 and those Mermaids which sound a bundle of joy to make...
Keep us posted.

Nice work Barry.
Regarding the Southern designed box van, some of these were built for the GWR/LMS towards the end of the war so a 'W' prefix to the number is correct.

Does look good and loads of interest with this line on here.
May be worth starting a layout thread as certainly deserves it.
Thanks for posting.

Good choice of number and name.
Good news on the headcode as well.
Like its been said all along its a learning curve and I'd imagine you have a porous surface to work with the card. Is there anyway you can seal it prior to applying primer say with varnish or something like Kleer?
-
Evening Roly,
Blimey! This has come on nicely since I last saw it.
I'm amazed this is done with card. It really does show what can be done with this medium.
Personally I like the paint finish.
Shame about the headcode. What number are you giving it and will it be named?

Have you the website link to ordering a new chimney please Mark. Thanks for my layout mention.Did the Bachmann chimney come off easy enough.
Hi Robin,
I believe DMR is now under the auspices of Phoenix-Precision but their website is having some sort of 'hissy fit' on my machine. I'm not sure if they have the chimneys in stock but there is a contact box which may be worth a try.
The chimney if I remember correctly was removed with a razor saw then the surface was made ready for the replacement chimney. I used Superglue to attach it. At the moment it's loose because I hadn't put it on straight.
If the chassis repairs go to plan then I'll get to work on the loco/tender.

Out of interest what do use for the lining out. Is it a bow pen?

.......I'm contemplating that Pannier I still have to build and wondering whether I'd need to spring it or could get away with a rigid chassis.
Sounds like a Forest of Dean based layout in O gauge is on the way with a Pannier and a Prarie!
Photo does look good...

Hi Roly,
Sorry for the late reply.
That certainly looks like a good learning curve. Like others have said you've gleaned important knowledge on using the Silhoutte Cutter.
Look forwards to seeing a more positive update.
