  1. Now that’s what I call attention to detail. Looking forward to seeing the scenics completed.
  2. It usually involves allowing you to herd your sheep somewhere or other.
  3. Reely? Last time we were there we just ignored the money making bit (well mostly) and had a pleasant walk up to the top falls and back.
  4. It shows up quite well on google maps satellite view too.
  5. Correct me if I’m wrong but as far as I can see most/all locos on these turns run forward facing to Mallaig - much to the disappointment of those wanting to photograph the loco working hard over the viaduct pulling away from Genfinnan Station. My point though - does this mean that the locos have come all the way up from Glasgow tender first. Or are they dragged up. Not a lot to do with your layout but the last couple of posts got me wondering.
  6. The section on baseboard and framing here might give you some ideas.
  7. I had my flu jab the other day. Not due my booster for another week. As I was having flu jab Nurse Jabber said I was eligible for a pneumonia jab too. Why not I said. I’ve got a spare arm. The next one will be due in ten years time she said. Hope I’m still around for it I said.
  8. I haven’t read any reports or seen the highlights yet but I’ll take that result. And two of our players scored for England too. Reasonably happy Falcon tonight.
  9. It will be interesting to see if it works with your LZV100.
  10. Is that also the case when used with a Lenz command station?
  11. Does that mean that they have a fork lift truck?
  12. According to the Calor website to return gas bottles (non empties included) you need to call one of their gas centres - and they have a system in place to find one local to you. No mention is made of needing to accept a full in exchange. How did you try to contact your local centre?
  13. Up until quite recently it was known that a Multimaus couldn’t access the higher functions when used with a Lenz command station. Something to do with the way they implemented XpressNet I believe. That’s not to say it isn’t possible with the latest firmware version. Anyone?
  14. It is also feasible to run some sections with both rails directly supplied from your track bus - as long as the k rail is isolated from sections supplied by the RS8. These sections obviously won’t be ‘monitored’ but will free up outputs from the RS8 to allow you more monitored blocks. The voltage supplied by the RS8 is slightly lower than that supplied directly but there is a way of dealing with this if it causes a problem. The actual number of, and location of, monitored blocks is another issue altogether.
  15. I did post earlier explaining the diagram on the website which shows that you can feed one rail continuously and directly from the command station without any isolating breaks (with appropriate use of droppers to ensure continuity of course) and use isolated sections on the other rail with just one feed to each from the RS8 outputs. As athegn indicated above, it is important to correctly wire the RS8 to power and track feeds. I’m guessing my post was in the duplicate topic and was just deleted along with it.
  16. A lovely photograph, Jamie… … and along similar lines … here is part of the reason why I have been spending less time here than I used to…
  17. A pity we are only allowed to click on the supportive button just the once. It was a huge click I gave it though.
  18. Section 9 of the Appendix of the Mk 1 Coaches Supplement (Parkin) has 4mm plans of an open second, a corridor first and a handful of catering vehicles. No 'half brakes' though.
  19. Having a fiddle yard beyond either end makes a difference. How would a train running clockwise drop off wagons in any of the sidings at ‘Muir of Ord’ without becoming trapped? Or did you envisage them running around a train off scene? it is possible but freight trains would have to drop off running anti clockwise and leave in that direction too.
  20. Interesting development. The first, based around Muir of Ord seems a better idea. Facing the right way for better operation between the two if you see what I mean. Unless there will be a continuous loop right around the loft? If there isn’t a continuous loop then one could act as a fiddle yard for the other the give yet another operational dimension.

    EBay madness

They’ve been doing that sort of thing for far too long now for it to be accidental. I don’t know who is in charge down there but they can’t have much of a conscience. Personally I’d be embarrassed if I were responsible for some of their listings.
  22. Ok then. Christmas starts when you hear ‘White Christmas’’.
  23. Interesting - but be wary of the additional fees involved - 38.4%
