  1. I went to Betws-y-Coed once. It was flooded then.
  2. You've come to the right place here, then.
  3. I love autumn and winter. The colours, the crispness. Walking is a new experience and the views are so clear compared to the hazy views in summer. The patterns formed by frost and ice are a work of art that you can spend a whole day photographing. Wrap up well and enjoy. I like days with a snow white collar, and nights when the moon is a silver dollar and hills are filled with eiderdown stuffing and your breath makes smoke like an engine puffing I like days when feathers are snowing and all the eaves have peticoats showing and the air is cold and the wires are humming but you feel all warm...... with Christmas coming. Then I slipped on ice earlier in the year and cracked a rib. Now I think winter is crap. Morning all
  4. Some people will just make up whole stories.
  5. It makes a change to have a sensible discushion.
  6. Just in case Simon has gone to work - it's in three weeks time Mike. An excellent line up again. http://www.rmweb.co....in-the-round-2/ Blyth is in a fortnight and Crook is this weekend. It never rains but it pours.
  7. Cheers Mike. I will look into it - but I don't fancy going up toward the Metro Centre at this time of year. As long as they don't pick you in three weeks time.
  8. I must have a look at those. All my old mags are lying about the loft stopping me building a new layout. Probably not big enough to take the new size rail expess though.
  9. Morning all I went round for the papers at 6:30 and they hadn't arrived. Have just been back to the newsagent and still no papers. Completely spoiled my Sunday morning it has. It's amazing what creatures of habit we are. If only I had some exams coming up. I could do some revision.
  10. I'd like to bet that said sofas are in the 'ends this weekend' sale too.
  11. I dunno, what with the strong winds that we have been having ......
  12. Blimey. It aint half gone dark. Allthe bright blue skies of this morning have disappeared. I'm sitting marking some exam papers and have had to turn the main light on just to see.
  13. Morning all Clear blue skies this morning. My weekend paper has started running a series on films/books/etc that 'defined' the decade. Is it really ten years since all that fuss over the new millenium? 2017 is the planned date I believe. Let's hope we are still around to watch it.
  14. Fingers crossed for you DD. Remembering to push the po back under the bed will remove one possible source of wet feet.
  15. It's just started raining heavily here, but I understand that this is just the tail end of what is hitting other parts of the country. Here's hoping that everyone is Ok and that there is not too much damage.
  16. It seems funny that some managers only have a pop at the referee when their teams lose. It most be those selective spectacles they all wear. I totallly agre with S.A.C. above. Statements before the match designed to pressure the refs such as, 'He will be influenced by the crowd and favour them' should be banned completely. Let managers play their mind games with each other but to bring the ref into it is unfair.
  17. I found a card saying that I was out and I had to collect my pound coin from the nearest depot.
  18. Morning all. Perhaps we should start a 'Little bit later Risers' group for GordonS Dominik - arrange a wild party. Go on, you know you want to. Then you can take your mind off things for the rest of the week by tidying up so she won't notice.
  19. Hi Simon. I thought you would be too busy posting menus and organising breakfasts and coffe and such like.
  20. Did they still meet in the converted cellars beneath the Town Hall then?
  21. I've still got my Gilwell scarf, woggle and wood beads somewhere.
