  1. Here’s hoping that there is a simple explanation. If you do manage to get in touch please let him know that he is in our thoughts.
  2. I had my bloods tested for my yearly review a fortnight ago. Follow up is not for another couple of weeks yet - by phone. Fortunately I can log in to ‘the system’ and see the results for myself. Hb1ac was 47. Whilst not ideal it is ‘within’ my target range. I would obviously prefer it to be lower and I know I have been lax over the last few months so some changes are necessary. The myriad of other tests were all ‘normal’ apart from two which were ‘Abnormal but expected’. I’m not sure exactly what that means so will query it. My GP signed the tests off as No further action required. Morning all Chucking it down here and forecast to last until later this afternoon. Today is one of the days we look after our Grandson so plenty of playtime and other activities to do. I think a nappy may need changing. At least I don’t have Covid then.
  3. Evening all. Still alive. Tick I have had a busy few days. Thursday was shopping but we decided to make a day out of it venturing further afield to do the shop. Clue: I could have used it as an excuse to test my eyesight. Friday was what has now become an annual event, a day out with my daughter. Ostensibly a Xmas shopping day but it has become more of an excuse to see Fenwick’s windows, the Christmas markets, have a meal together and generally start to get into the Christmas mood. The fact that we had the grandson with us this time was an added bonus. Yesterday involved a trip to a garden centre with said grandson to feed the reindeer followed by his first ever visit to Father Christmas. Today I was at the NT property where I volunteer, not running the usual layouts but a specially built Xmas layout as the house is decorated for the season. The layout is a simple oval with Santa’s express running round and round. There is some simple scenery. A tunnel in the corner, a church, Metcalfe kits, fir trees, cotton wool … you get the picture. Boring? No, not when you see the children’s delight and watch them hunt for the reindeer and people sledging. Tomorrow I may have an easy day. Oh, hang on, Valerie is talking about the Christmas decorations. I remember when these sort of things didn’t happen until mid December, earliest. Time for a wee dram I think.
  4. The flat ones are useful too. Leave the gold foil in and they are great for storing tinlets of paint. Again, you can see the contents at a glance.
  5. I remember at secondary school we used to run a sweepstake on the result. 10p entry. Quite a lot of dinner money was lost that way. If you drew Dastardly’s Mean Machine it wasn’t worth watching.
  6. I’m surprised that Andy Y didn’t spot the pattern and that Bill had to ‘justify’ all of his posts.
  7. Is that because people collect them or just that they are useful storage.
  8. Wait a bit. The price will plummet when people start asking about neighbours.
  9. Many happy returns, GDB. Have a great day.
  10. It has started on time after all and has been... errm... interesting.
  11. Lemon is a fruit, so drizzle cake is definitely acceptable as one of your five daily portions of fruit and veg.
  12. Are the flats a block of four? Perhaps suggest that if he wants to be involved then he is responsible for 25% of the bill. If they are leasehold, he may well be anyway.

      Such a sad loss....

His work with Rob Burrow ( I'm a Rhino's fan ) and Stephen darby, will have such an impact against such a terrible condition.

  14. My dad made the baseboards for my first layout and I was glad he saw the (nearly) finished thing before he passed away.
  15. I know we are nor supposed to discuss muddling in Wheeltappers, but that looks an exquisite little layout.

  17. Wow. 300m that’s a rather big fiddle yard. You may be able to cutdown on the price of the plain track but what about the point work? The mind boggles.

  20. Ensure said friend has non-contact time last period on a Friday?
  21. You missed 'The Fat Controller' from that list. He needs a special mention for his Stirling efforts in the early days.
  22. I’m sure its movement can be modelled in such a way that does just that for you.
  23. Perhaps they all had the same sense of humour as you.
