  1. Morning all Still raining in the Dales. Not letting that spoil things though. We regularly holiday in this country and so have good waterproofs and luxury umbrellas
  2. Morning all As my gran used to say "rain, rain, go away ........" Ten brownie points to anyone who can finish it.
  3. I've got a few Cambrian OTA wagon kits that I bought just before .......... Will still build them though, one day.
  4. Morning all We only set off yesterday Don. As MiL now has carers calling three times a day we decided we could pinch a few days away. It was all sorted at short notice. We haven't travelled far, just to the Yorkshire Dales and will only be staying a few days. It Is mainly to give Mrs S. who cares for MiL a break. Of course I will enjoy it too.
  5. Evening all Sitting on an armchair in the bay window of our hotel room overlooking fields, fells and in the middle distance is the S&C line bathed in early evening sunshine. For me, it doesn't get much better.
  6. BoD

    Losing it.

Let's not forget that there are an awful lot of good kids out there too.
  7. Why do you never read the headline 'Clairvoyant Wins Lottery' ?
  8. That is sad news Jam, but not unusual when house buying I'm afraid
  9. What a foul day. It is dark and has been raining heavily for several hours now. I think it's heading your way Mike.
  10. Morning all Great photos folks. Lindisfarne is a place I love too, for much the same reasons as you obviously do. I'm not a believer in any particular deity but there are certain places where you can feel deep spiritually and that us one of them. On Wednesday we visited the Northumberland coast. I did toy with the idea of crossing to the Farnes but it was so busy that all of the reasons for going would have been lost in the crowds. Went for a walk on the beach north of Bamburgh instead.
  11. The quicky Don. Which is turning out to be anything but. Being in the sort of job I'm in means that during term time there is very little spare time so I guess I must just accept that any project, even a quicky, is going to be a long term affair. Being able to work on it 30 mins here and there though is a welcome break.
  12. Morning all Only four more weeks off. You would think the layout would be finished wouldn't you...........
  13. One tries to be light hearted.
  14. It's the female equivalent of you going out and cocking your leg on the local lamposts Mick. I assume you have already done this? Just to let the neighbours know who is boss.
  15. Yes. No leave them out. Don't think it matters but put them as capitals anyway.
  16. You admit to being able to quote from the Sound of Music?
  17. Have a good holiday Tony. I hope Matthew enjoys his trip to Vietnam too, whenever that takes place. Good luck Mick. I do hope it all works out for you eventually.
  18. When is your next happening due?
  19. If I'm using my satnav I always select the woman's voice. Then I can just ignore her ...... and get away with it.
  20. Delighted to hear that you are feeling more like your old self Gordon.
  21. News bulletins that have to have a picture or powerpoint type presentation with every story no matter how inappropriate.
  22. Does that mean your IQ is doubly higher than IE users?
  23. ...... did they find anything interesting or of value?
  24. After a week on call I suspect it will be more profane than profound. I am sitting having coffee on York station just taking in all the architecture, both major structural and fine detail. What a wonderful heritage we have in our older stations. They are, in my sacrilegious opinion, comparable to the great cathedrals.
