  1. Agreed, but it doesn't look as clear cut as people have been making out either. Who'd be a ref when everyone else but you can access the technology?
  2. How on earth do you make a decision like that? Whatever happens will be for the best and I am sure that he has had the best of times with you.
  3. Just shows how difficult it is .... look at the picture in this report http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17725064
  4. I've just read that some (Chelsea?) supporters couldn't respect a minutes silence. Just about sums up football at the moment. Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells
  5. In some ways it goes back to my earlier post. It's the FA's fault It's the refs fault but it's never the players' responsibility. I'm afraid sportsmanship and integrity went out of the door a long time ago.
  6. Oh dear. What a farce. I feel the whole technology argument raising its head again.
  7. The chairman of the Professional Footballers Association called on the FA, the Premier League and referees to show zero tolerance toward diving. Erm .... isn't there one important element he left out of that list?
  8. It must be frustrating for you, Stewart. Don't rush it though - think long term health.
  9. I thought it was a broken Rich Tea.
  10. Blimey, I've just heard the news. Apparently the Titanic has sunk.
  11. Morning all Many happy returns Debs.
  12. It's ok Mike, I've turned my monitor on its side. Only problem is they are upside down now.
  13. Size 10 or 12? There was an article in the paper this morning about research into complementing the female of the species. (sorry Debs, jump this post if you want) Apparently 'you are looking well' is womancode for 'you look fat' You didn't by any chance say that the dress was 'figure hugging' did you Gordon? Big mistake. Apparently saying that she looks slim is Ok.
  14. Morning all It's persisting down here at the moment. Pete, I use zdnet or cnet for testing. Google takes you straight there.
  15. I've just filled a couple of jerry cans with stamps and put them in the garage just in case.
  16. Morning all Strange, none of it looked 'bodged' I bet it made a great sight and sound going over the top Dave. There was quite a bit of wheel slip on the wet rail as it started. Unfortunately SWMBO had the car so I was limited to the station. Best of luck with your venture Simon, I hope all goes well for you. It is a brave decision you have made but it sounds as if it might preserve both your sanity and dignity in the long run. There have been times in the past when I wish I had been as brave.
  17. There were some very, very strange accents heard in Carlisle today.
  18. Are you sure that it was Robbie demanding attention?
  19. You would have enjoyed York, Gordon. Gresley Beat, Copenhagen Fields, Stoke Summit ......... Better than the football.
  20. Yes, but the rest of the instructions just don't make sense.
  21. I had an enjoyable day at York today. Some excellent layouts. I treat myself to a new 'toy' and here is one of the assembly instructions: 7. Ratherish lift the front work bedplate, open the frond left and right side cover board, uniform left and right side plank from outside to inside, put the front worktable flatewise.
  22. Didn't Shearer get away with retrospective punishment for kicking a player off the ball after saying he wouldn't play for England if he was punished? With regard to using the replays I don't think that refs make more mistakes, it's just that they are spotted more often, as said quite often after ultra slow motion from several directions. Offside apart, I thought that the incident yesterday did look like a trip from the camera angle closest to the refs view which just shows how hard it is for officials now. As far as using replays how far down the pyramid should you go? Premiership only? All four leagues? Below that? For the lower leagues there appears to be only one camera gathering pictures for the highlights show. Would that give enough evidence? Where would the extra officials come from or would there be screens at he side of the pitch for 'on field' officials in which case who would edit /re-run the video? Expensive which ever way you look at it and more questions than answers.
  23. You can watch the highlights on the Football League show on BBC's iPlayer. Edit: you can watch it twice if you like
  24. ####### Yes, I find that hilarious too. ####### Is funnier though.
