  1. I would be gutted if I had travelled to see a world cup final and there was a replay on the Wednesday but I had to fly back on the Monday. Especially if England were involved. Ok, I'm being silly on both counts .......... but you know what I mean.
  2. Morning all Have a great holiday DD
  3. Didn't they try something similar in one international competition. The Golden goal or Silver goal I think it was called. Or is my memory playing tricks. Edit: just done a bit of research. The golden goal was the first goal scored in extra time and the match ended and the team scoring it won. Germany won Euro 96 in this way. From what I can gather though penalties would still occur at the end of extra time if still level so it didn't eliminate them. In fact it was thought that it made both teams play more defensively to protect against a golden goal and so was dropped.
  4. The sea fret has all but disappeared here. I expect it to return with the tide in a couple of hours.
  5. Morning all Bad luck Trev A few days of sun here then heavy sea fret. Typical Told you so. Both came second last.
  6. I still don't understand why there should be a trophy and associated presentation. At best the 'winner' finished third.
  7. Probably the same result too. (I'll let you work out what though). I have been across to Carlisle for the day. Very interesting day on the station. Duchess of Sutherland (with bits dropping off), West Coast 47s and then this strange loco with a funny colour to the top of its chimney. A broken down freight south of Carlisle caused an interesting build up. The class 47s in the far sidings, Duke of Sutherland on platform 3, the yellow New Measurement Train on the centre road, a Pendolino on platform 4 and a Transpennine express shunted into the Necastle bay, alongside a 156 and 158. One of the class 47s left south to return later, presumably involved in shifting the broken freight train We were just thinking 'that about blocks everything up then' when a train consisting of a Class 20, three Class 37s and 2 nuclear flasks came off the Cumbrian coast line and powered through the station.
  8. About 20 Drachmas an hour. (just in case someone posts the question)

  15. This time last week we were in winter woolies complaining about the cold. This morning the car said 17.5oC...... and that was 7:15am. I wish it would make its mind up. The weather not the car.
