  1. I can't help be impressed by the photos you take with and against the natural light, something I am trying to arrange on my current build. Are you not worried though, that over time it may cause some items to fade.
  2. I have a doughnut with a hole in the middle. I eat half the doughnut. I have half a doughnut and half a hole? But ..... If I eat it evenly from the outside I am left with all of the hole. This hole business is confusing.
  3. Thoughts are with you and yours, Dom.
  4. Sounds like you are making a right mesh of the whole thing.
  5. He did say that he was going to arrange trips to visit Is's favourite places.Let's hope that he is doing just this or something similar.
  6. Ah, I remember now. You are using your holes in parallel rather than in series.
  7. You can sometimes get away with taking a larger hole and folding it in half.
  8. Being a Sunday there are lots of bikers on the sea front. Many of them are hairy so I slapped a few for you. I'm in ward 7.
  9. Morning all Earlier I was told that I am just like Victor Medrew. Success at last. I've been practising for years.
  10. ....... especially if you write 'Toughened Glass' at the bottom.
  11. Just back from the daily constitutional. It is grey and overcast here too, but warm and sultry. No rain as yet. As I walked along the seafront I noticed an empty table outside one of the eateries. I felt obliged to sit at it and, it being that sort of establishment, was forced to have a Cumberland sausage bap and large coffee. Life can be hard at times.
  12. That is exactly what I thought. I didn't realise this hadn't happened until the 'settlement' letters arrived earlier this month. The one from the mortgage company not mentioning the endowment and the one from the endowment company mentioning payment to this mortgage company we can't now trace. We must have remortgaged at the time banks were throwing them about like confetti. We had one very short meeting at the local branch then went back a short time later to sign the line with them doing all of the work in between. A case of mea culpa. Or are theya culpa?
  13. Thanks for the advice folks. It's not the figures, with or without profits, that are important. I know exactly how much the endowment will pay and how much shortfall I have to pay. That is all in place. The problem seems to be getting the endowment company to release the money to the current mortgage company and not the one who held the assignment twenty or so years ago. Not that they or I can find any up to date details for this company to ask them to declare no further interest. I think tomorrow will be another day when a lot of time will be spent on the phone.
  14. Morning all Happy birthday Brian. Has anyone met, or know anyone who has met this situation. Our mortgage finishes at the end of this month. I had been waiting for letters from the mortgage and endowment (yes, I know) companies with further details etc. These arrived at the start of the month giving the various amounts, instructions etc etc. However, it appears that the endowment is not assigned to the current mortgage holder but to the one we were with at the start of the mortgage which has changed a couple of times since then. The solution suggested was that the current mortgage company has to, with my permission, make a claim of interest in the endowment policy. Then the endowment company has to trace the original firm and get them to rescind their right to claim. I said they could do this at the start of the month and they said they would raise the claim within five working days. Yesterday I got a text saying that they were only dealing with our request now and would do so within five working days. I'm a little concerned that they will be wanting payment in full soon but the endowment business will not be sorted. Has anyone any knowledge of resolving a similar situation?

Says 'lowered by over £300'. Yep..... £300.01
  16. As long as you don't put a hex on us.
  17. Local news is reporting that Jeremy Corbyn was unable to recognise a photograph of TV presenters Ant and Dec during a leadership debate. He has just gone up a wee bit in my opinion.
  18. After having taken some MegaBytes out of my pork pie, I can confirm that it was delicious.
  19. Blank and white ..... but with an orange filter.
  20. Today we spent a pleasant day pottering about the Yorkshire Dales. You know the sort of thing, coffe here, stopping to take photos there, coffee somewhere else, stopping to enjoy the scenery..... well, I'm sure you get the picture. Finished up in Kettlewell where they have their scarecrow festival. It is normally a picturesque village, worth a visit but everyone in the village has joined in by producing scarecrows. Each year the festival gets better and all of the efforts are well produced, clever and/or funny. If ever you are able, it is well worth a look. Back home now with a glass of red and a pork, black pudding and apple pie from a long established family butcher in one of the villages.
  21. EdC: I haven't received an email from Teacher's Pensions. Having said that I'm not sure they have my email address. They have indicated in the past that all communication will be downloadable once logged on to your account on the web site.
  22. I liked the idea that they called the celebrity version of Pointless, 'Pointless Celebrities'. A little bit of self awareness at last.
  23. After my detached retina and follow up op I finally went to the opticians today for a new prescription. I went in, introduced myself and said I had an appointment at 1:15. They said, This is Greggs the Bakers, Specsavers is next door.
  24. You've obviously never been in Newcastle on a Friday night then.
